أعربت الأمانة لجامعة الدول العربية عن انزعاجها إزاء بيان زعيمة حزب المحافظين البريطاني خلال الجلسة البرلمانية التي عقدها أمس حول اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار، مؤكدة أن بيانها تضمن مغالطات عديدة وتحاملاً واضحاً على الفلسطينيين.
وأشار المتحدث باسم الأمين العام للجامعة العربية المستشار جمال رشدي، إلى أن ما ذكرته السياسية البريطانية حول تورط منظمة الأمم المتحدة لغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين «الأونروا» في الإرهاب إنما «يتطابق بشكل كامل مع الرواية الإسرائيلية في الخصوص»، مشدداً على أن تلك الرواية لا تستند إلى أي وقائع حقيقية بل تتجاهل نتائج تحقيق حاسم أجرته الأمم المتحدة حول دور «الأونروا» الذي لا غنى عنه في مساعدة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين.
اتهامات ليست جديدة
وتأسست «الأونروا» عام 1949 بقرار من الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، وتُعدّ الجهة الرئيسية التي تقدم المساعدات الإنسانية والتعليمية والصحية لملايين اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في الأردن، ولبنان، وسورية، والأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة.
ولا تعتبر الاتهامات الموجهة لـ«الأونروا» من قبل بعض الأطراف، خصوصاً إسرائيل، جديدة، لكنها كثيراً ما تُواجه بردود قوية من الأمم المتحدة والدول العربية التي تؤكد على الحيادية والدور الإنساني الحاسم للوكالة.

وقال المتحدث إن من المؤسف أن بيان زعيمة المعارضة خلا من أي إشارة للمعاناة الهائلة للفلسطينيين جراء حرب الإبادة الإسرائيلية غير المسبوقة في وحشيتها، وعكس تماهياً كاملاً مع الروايات الإسرائيلية في انحياز سافر لها.
وأكد المتحدث مجدداً تقدير الجامعة العربية لمواقف الحكومة البريطانية برئاسة كير ستارمر التي «تعكس توازنا ورغبة صادقة في تصحيح أخطاء تاريخية» تحملها بريطانيا دون سواها إزاء القضية الفلسطينية، سواء عبر الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية، أو العمل على مساندة الجهود المبذولة من أجل فتح مسار ذي مصداقية ولا رجعة عنه لتجسيد الدولة الفلسطينية.
وتأتي تصريحات الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية في سياق توترات سياسية ودبلوماسية مستمرة تتعلق بالقضية الفلسطينية، التي تعد واحدة من أكثر القضايا حساسية وتعقيداً في الشرق الأوسط.
The Arab League's secretariat expressed its concern regarding the statement made by the leader of the British Conservative Party during the parliamentary session held yesterday about the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that her statement contained numerous inaccuracies and a clear bias against the Palestinians.
The spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Counselor Jamal Rushdi, pointed out that what the British politician mentioned regarding the involvement of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in terrorism "completely aligns with the Israeli narrative in this regard," stressing that this narrative is not based on any real facts but ignores the results of a decisive investigation conducted by the United Nations regarding the indispensable role of UNRWA in assisting Palestinian refugees.
Accusations Not New
UNRWA was established in 1949 by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly and is the main entity providing humanitarian, educational, and health assistance to millions of Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The accusations directed at UNRWA by some parties, especially Israel, are not new, but they are often met with strong responses from the United Nations and Arab countries that emphasize the neutrality and crucial humanitarian role of the agency.

The spokesperson stated that it is unfortunate that the opposition leader's statement lacked any reference to the immense suffering of the Palestinians due to the unprecedented brutality of the Israeli genocide, reflecting a complete alignment with the Israeli narratives in blatant bias.
The spokesperson reiterated the Arab League's appreciation for the positions of the British government under Keir Starmer, which "reflect a balance and a sincere desire to correct historical mistakes" that Britain alone bears regarding the Palestinian issue, whether through recognizing the Palestinian state or working to support efforts aimed at opening a credible and irreversible path to realize the Palestinian state.
The statements from the Arab League's secretariat come in the context of ongoing political and diplomatic tensions related to the Palestinian issue, which is considered one of the most sensitive and complex issues in the Middle East.
