أفصحت مصادر إسرائيلية وأمريكية أن المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف، وقائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية (سنتكوم) براد كوبر زارا قطاع غزة.
وحسب شبكة «فوكس نيوز» وإذاعة جيش الاحتلال، فإن الزيارة استهدفت التحقق من أن الجيش الإسرائيلي انسحب فعلاً إلى ما وراء «الخط الأصفر» في إطار الاتفاق، وخطة الرئيس دونالد ترمب. وأفادت بأن الزيارة تمّت بعد انسحاب الجيش الإسرائيلي، ثم عاد الاثنان إلى إسرائيل، برفقة رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي أيال زمير.
ولم يصدر الجيش الإسرائيلي أي تقرير عن الزيارة، لكن هيئة البث الإسرائيلية أعلنت أن الزيارة لمتابعة آلية وقف إطلاق النار.
مركز للتنسيق المدني - العسكري
من جانبه، قال قائد القيادة المركزية (سنتكوم) الأدميرال براد كوبر، في تصريح بعد خروجه من زيارة غزة، إن التقدم بدأ يظهر بخصوص إنشاء مركز للتنسيق المدني-العسكري لتنسيق الأنشطة الداعمة لاستقرار القطاع.
وأضاف أن جنود الجيش الأمريكي يلبّون النداء لجلب السلام إلى الشرق الأوسط، بتوجيه من القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة الرئيس دونالد ترمب. ووصف ما يجري بأنه «لحظة تاريخية» يرافقها جهد كبير يتحقق من دون وجود ميداني للقوات الأمريكية على الأرض في غزة.
وكان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أعلن الجمعة دخول وقف إطلاق النار حيز التنفيذ، وانتهاء إعادة تموضع قواته في مناطق عدة بالقطاع، وفقاً لما تم التوافق عليه سابقاً في المفاوضات التي جرت في شرم الشيخ، إذ انسحب الجيش من أحياء مدينة غزة باستثناء حي الشجاعية، ومنع الفلسطينيين من العودة لبيت حانون وبيت لاهيا شمال القطاع، ورفح وشرق خان يونس جنوباً.
وصول قوات أمريكية
ومن المنتظر وصول قوات أمريكية إلى محيط قطاع غزة صباح غد (الأحد)، لتتوجه إلى قاعدة «هاتسور» الجوية بالقرب من مدينة أشدود في إسرائيل، لمراقبة وقف إطلاق النار في غزة، وفق ما أورده موقع «أكسيوس» اليوم (السبت).
وكان مسؤول أمريكي أعلن أن «الجنود الـ200 الذين سيأتون إلى محيط غزة، لن يدخلوا القطاع، بل قوة الاستقرار الدولية ستكون منتشرة هناك».
وأوضح أن مهمة هذه القوة هي إقامة مركز تنسيق مدني عسكري، مهمته تنظيم المساعدات الإنسانية بما فيها الشؤون العملانية وتوفير المساعدة الأمنية، ومراقبة تطبيق وقف إطلاق النار. ولفت إلى أن ممثلين من كافة الشركاء المساهمين في قوة دولية لحفظ الاستقرار سيعملون في المركز، إلى جانب مشاركة ممثلين للمنظمات غير الحكومية الموجودة الآن على الأرض أو المنظمات التي ستنضم في المستقبل إلى العمل.
Israeli and American sources revealed that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Brad Cooper visited the Gaza Strip.
According to Fox News and the Israeli army radio, the visit aimed to verify that the Israeli army had indeed withdrawn beyond the "yellow line" as part of the agreement and President Donald Trump's plan. It was reported that the visit took place after the Israeli army's withdrawal, after which both returned to Israel, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir.
The Israeli army did not issue any report about the visit, but the Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced that the visit was to follow up on the ceasefire mechanism.
Center for Civil-Military Coordination
For his part, CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated in a statement after leaving Gaza that progress has begun to show regarding the establishment of a civil-military coordination center to coordinate activities supporting the stability of the sector.
He added that U.S. soldiers are answering the call to bring peace to the Middle East, under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Donald Trump. He described what is happening as a "historic moment" accompanied by a significant effort being realized without a field presence of U.S. forces on the ground in Gaza.
The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday that the ceasefire had come into effect, and the repositioning of its forces in several areas of the sector had ended, according to what was previously agreed upon in the negotiations that took place in Sharm El-Sheikh, as the army withdrew from neighborhoods in Gaza City except for the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, and prevented Palestinians from returning to Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia in the north of the sector, as well as Rafah and eastern Khan Younis in the south.
Arrival of American Forces
American forces are expected to arrive in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip tomorrow morning (Sunday), heading to the "Hatzor" airbase near the city of Ashdod in Israel, to monitor the ceasefire in Gaza, according to what Axios reported today (Saturday).
An American official announced that "the 200 soldiers who will come to the vicinity of Gaza will not enter the sector, but the international stabilization force will be deployed there."
He explained that the mission of this force is to establish a civil-military coordination center, whose task is to organize humanitarian aid, including operational affairs and providing security assistance, and to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire. He noted that representatives from all partner contributors to the international stabilization force will work in the center, alongside representatives from the non-governmental organizations currently on the ground or those that will join the work in the future.
