روسيا تحذّر: أوكرانيا تخطّط لعملية في بولندا

Amid escalating confrontations and increasing tensions between Russia and NATO and the European Union, in the context of the war in Ukraine, Russian foreign intelligence warned of Ukrainian preparations for a serious provocation.

In a statement today (Tuesday), it announced that Kyiv is preparing for an operation in Poland involving a sabotage reconnaissance group that will claim its members are from Russia and Belarus, according to the Russian news agency TASS. The intelligence did not rule out that this operation could mimic "an attack on critical infrastructure facilities in Poland aimed at provoking a wide response."

Igniting a Major War

According to Russian intelligence, Ukraine will not abandon its attempts to draw European NATO countries into an armed confrontation with Moscow. It mentioned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is prepared, in the face of inevitable defeat, to bear all the difficult consequences under the guise of Europeans, even if it costs igniting a major war.

A Plan to Deal with Drones

For his part, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held Russia responsible for its drones violating the airspace of Estonia and Poland. He called for a plan to deal with the drones. Rutte stated before participating in the security meeting of the Commissioners in Brussels: "We cannot shoot down a drone with missiles worth millions of dollars."

Testing NATO's Credibility

For her part, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the need to respond strongly to the incursion of Russian drones within the borders of EU countries. She announced an agreement with Ukraine to allocate two billion euros for the development of drones.

Several NATO member countries have recently witnessed a series of violations of their airspace by Russian aircraft and drones. These incidents have formed an unprecedented test of the credibility of the military defensive alliance, at a time when Moscow has intensified its attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure facilities.
