أعلن البيت الأبيض، أن المروحية التي كان يستقلها الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب والسيدة الأولى ميلانيا تعرضت لعطل فني واضطرت إلى الهبوط في مطار محلي خلال رحلة عودتهما من بريطانيا.
وكان ترمب اختتم زيارته الرسمية إلى المملكة المتحدة، والتي استمرت يومين، بعد لقاء مع رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر وزوجته في قصر تشيكرز، وبدأ رحلة العودة إلى بلاده.
وقالت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت، في بيان، إن ترمب وميلانيا استقلا بسلام مروحية أخرى، وتسببت الحادثة في تأخير وصولهما إلى مطار ستانستيد في المملكة المتحدة، حيث صعدا على متن طائرة الرئاسة في طريق عودتهما إلى الولايات المتحدة.
وأضافت ليفيت: «بسبب عطل بسيط، ومن باب الحيطة والحذر، هبط الطياران في مطار محلي قبل الوصول إلى مطار ستانستيد، وصعد الرئيس والسيدة الأولى بسلام إلى المروحية».
The White House announced that the helicopter carrying President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania experienced a technical malfunction and had to land at a local airport during their return trip from Britain.
Trump had concluded his official visit to the United Kingdom, which lasted two days, after meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife at Chequers, and began the journey back to his country.
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt stated in a statement that Trump and Melania safely boarded another helicopter, and the incident caused a delay in their arrival at Stansted Airport in the United Kingdom, where they boarded Air Force One on their way back to the United States.
Levitt added, "Due to a minor malfunction, and as a precaution, the pilots landed at a local airport before reaching Stansted Airport, and the President and First Lady safely boarded the helicopter."
