أوقفت السلطات البلغارية مالك سفينة مطلوب على خلفية التحقيق في الانفجار الذي وقع في مرفأ بيروت عام 2020، بحسب ما أعلنته متحدثة باسم محكمة مدينة صوفيا اليوم (الثلاثاء)، وذلك بعد مرور 5 سنوات على التفجير الدامي.
وأكدت المتحدثة أنه تم إلقاء القبض على مالك السفينة في بلغاريا، مبينة الموقوف إيغور غريتشوشكين وُضع رهن الاحتجاز لمدة أقصاها 40 يوماً بموجب قرار صادر عن المحكمة في 7 سبتمبر الحالي، وأُكّد في الاستئناف.
مطلوب دولياً
وأفاد مصدر قضائي بلغاري أن غريتشوشكين أوقف لدى وصوله من بافوس (قبرص) تنفيذا لنشرة حمراء صادرة عن الإنتربول، وبحسب نص القانون البلغاري فإن المحكمة تمنح السلطات التي تطلب تسليم المطلوبين مهلة 40 يوما لتقديم الوثائق اللازمة لتبرير نقلهم.
وكانت السلطات اللبنانية قد أعلنت سابقا أن المواطن الروسي القبرصي إيغور غريتشوشكين البالغ 48 عاما هو مالك سفينة روسوس التي كانت تحمل شحنة نترات الأمونيوم تمّ تخزينها في ميناء بيروت حيث رست، وانفجرت في الرابع من أغسطس 2020 وأسفر الانفجار عن مقتل أكثر من 200 شخص وتسبب في أضرار جسيمة.
تحقيقات متقدمة
وأكد وزير العدل اللبناني عادل نصار الشهر الماضي أن التحقيقات في تلك القضية وصلت مراحل متقدمة، موضحاً أن توقيت صدور القرار يحدده قاضي التحقيق وفقاً لاكتمال الملف.
Bulgarian authorities have arrested the owner of a ship wanted in connection with the investigation into the explosion that occurred at the Port of Beirut in 2020, a spokesperson for the Sofia City Court announced today (Tuesday), five years after the deadly blast.
The spokesperson confirmed that the ship's owner was arrested in Bulgaria, noting that the detained Igor Grechushkin has been placed in custody for a maximum of 40 days under a court order issued on September 7, which was upheld on appeal.
Internationally Wanted
A Bulgarian judicial source reported that Grechushkin was arrested upon his arrival from Paphos (Cyprus) in execution of a red notice issued by Interpol. According to Bulgarian law, the court grants the authorities requesting the extradition of wanted individuals a period of 40 days to provide the necessary documents to justify their transfer.
Lebanese authorities had previously announced that the 48-year-old Cypriot Russian citizen Igor Grechushkin is the owner of the ship Rhosus, which was carrying a cargo of ammonium nitrate that was stored in the Port of Beirut where it docked, and exploded on August 4, 2020, resulting in the deaths of more than 200 people and causing significant damage.
Advanced Investigations
Lebanese Justice Minister Adel Nassar confirmed last month that investigations into the case have reached advanced stages, explaining that the timing of the decision's issuance is determined by the investigating judge based on the completion of the file.
