دشن مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية اليوم (الإثنين)، مشروع نور السعودية التطوعي لمكافحة العمى والأمراض المسببة له في محافظة مأرب والذي سيستمر في هيئة مستشفى مأرب العام حتى الـ19 من سبتمبر الجاري بتنفيذ من قبل الجمعية الدولية لرعاية ضحايا الحروب والكوارث.
مبادرة إنسانية
ويهدف المشروع إلى تقديم عمليات مجانية لذوي الدخل المحدود تشمل إزالة المياه البيضاء وزراعة القرنية وغيرها من التدخلات التخصصية، بإشراف نخبة من الكوادر الطبية وباستخدام تقنيات حديثة تضمن جودة الخدمة وسلامة المرضى.
أكد وكيل محافظة مأرب الدكتور عبدربه مفتاح في كلمة له خلال التدشين، أن المشروع يمثل تدخلاً نوعياً يعيد الأمل لآلاف المرضى، ويعكس عمق العلاقات الأخوية بين اليمن والمملكة العربية السعودية، مشددًا على دعم السلطة المحلية الكامل لكل المبادرات الإنسانية التي تخفف معاناة المواطنين.

فيما أوضح مدير عام المخيمات الطبية بوزارة الصحة اليمنية محمد طريق، أن مشروع نور السعودية يُجسّد نموذجاً متقدماً للتدخلات الطبية الإنسانية، ويعكس التزام الشركاء الدوليين بدعم القطاع الصحي اليمني في المناطق الأكثر احتياجاً.
من جانبه، أوضح منسق البرامج في الجمعية الدولية عمار شبيب أن المخيم ينظم بالتنسيق مع وزارة الصحة العامة والسكان ويجري في وقت متزامن أيضا مع إقامة مخيم مماثل في محافظة تعز.

240 عملية نوعية
وأشار إلى أن المخيم يهدف لإجراء 120 عملية نوعية لمرضى العيون بمحافظة مأرب وتقديم 100 نظارة طبية على مدى أسبوع، ومثلها أيضا في محافظة تعز بهدف تخفيف معاناة المرضى.
ولفت شبيب إلى الإقبال الواسع من المرضى منذ انطلاق المشروع، معتبراً أنه فرصة طال انتظارها، إذ يعيد البصر ويمنح الحياة من جديد للمرضى الذين حالت ظروفهم دون تلقي العلاج في السابق.

وشهد حفل التدشين حضوراً رسمياً كبيراً وبمشاركة فرع مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة، كما يُجسد مشروع «نور السعودية» تكامل الجهود الإنسانية والطبية، وخطوة سعودية عملية لإعادة البصر وزرع الأمل في قلوب المرضى وأسرهم بمحافظة مأرب.
The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works today (Monday) launched the Saudi Light Volunteer Project to combat blindness and the diseases causing it in Marib Governorate, which will continue at Marib General Hospital until September 19, implemented by the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims.
Humanitarian Initiative
The project aims to provide free surgeries for low-income individuals, including cataract removal, corneal transplantation, and other specialized interventions, under the supervision of a select group of medical professionals and using modern techniques that ensure the quality of service and the safety of patients.
Dr. Abdul Rabah Muftah, the Deputy Governor of Marib, confirmed in a speech during the launch that the project represents a qualitative intervention that restores hope to thousands of patients and reflects the depth of brotherly relations between Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the full support of the local authority for all humanitarian initiatives that alleviate the suffering of citizens.

The Director General of Medical Camps at the Yemeni Ministry of Health, Mohammed Tareq, explained that the Saudi Light Project embodies an advanced model of humanitarian medical interventions and reflects the commitment of international partners to support the Yemeni health sector in the most needy areas.
For his part, the program coordinator at the International Association, Ammar Shbib, stated that the camp is organized in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and is being held simultaneously with a similar camp in Taiz Governorate.

240 Specialized Surgeries
He pointed out that the camp aims to perform 120 specialized surgeries for eye patients in Marib Governorate and provide 100 pairs of eyeglasses over the course of a week, with a similar number also in Taiz Governorate to alleviate the suffering of patients.
Shbib noted the wide turnout from patients since the project's launch, considering it a long-awaited opportunity, as it restores sight and gives life anew to patients whose circumstances previously prevented them from receiving treatment.
