فيما تؤكد وسائل إعلام أمريكية أنه سيزور الدوحة غداً (الثلاثاء)، أعلن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، اليوم (الإثنين)، أن بلاده تركز حالياً على الدور الذي قد تلعبه قطر في تحرير الأسرى الإسرائيليين في غزة. وأوضح أن واشنطن ستشجع الدوحة على مواصلة لعب دور، مبيناً أن الدوحة يمكن أن تلعب دوراً حاسماً لخلق مستقبل رائع لسكان غزة.
إطلاق الأسرى
وقال روبيو خلال مؤتمر صحفي مشترك مع رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو في القدس: «يجب أن ينتهي وجود حركة حماس ككيان مسلح بسبب تهديده للسلام والأمن في المنطقة»، مبيناً أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب كان واضحاً بشأن إطلاق سراح كل الأسرى، وإبعاد حركة حماس من حكم غزة.
وأشار إلى أن بلاده لديها علاقات قوية مع الحلفاء في الخليج، متهماً حماس باستخدام سكان غزة كدروع بشرية وأنها تهدف إلى القضاء على إسرائيل.
وفيما يتعلق بالملف الإيراني أوضح روبيو أن ترمب سيواصل حملة الضغوط القصوى على إيران، مشيرا إلى أن تهديد إيران يطال إسرائيل وأوروبا والعالم، على حد زعمه.
أمريكا حليف
من جهته، قال رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، إن إسرائيل تتحمل المسؤولية الكاملة عن الهجوم على قادة حماس في الدوحة، مشيراً إلى أن أمريكا ليس لديها حليف أفضل من إسرائيل.
وزعم نتنياهو أن «الهجوم على الدوحة لم يفشل»، وأنه لا حصانة لقادة حماس في أي مكان.
وبرر نتنياهو قيام الجيش الإسرائيلي بهدم الأبراج في غزة، بالقول إن «حماس تستخدمها كمعاقل»، مطالباً سكان القطاع بالمغادرة فوراً.
While American media confirms that he will visit Doha tomorrow (Tuesday), U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced today (Monday) that his country is currently focusing on the role Qatar may play in the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza. He explained that Washington will encourage Doha to continue playing a role, indicating that Doha could play a crucial role in creating a wonderful future for the people of Gaza.
Release of Prisoners
Rubio said during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem: "The existence of Hamas as an armed entity must come to an end due to its threat to peace and security in the region," noting that U.S. President Donald Trump has been clear about the release of all prisoners and removing Hamas from ruling Gaza.
He pointed out that his country has strong relationships with allies in the Gulf, accusing Hamas of using the people of Gaza as human shields and claiming that its goal is to eliminate Israel.
Regarding the Iranian file, Rubio clarified that Trump will continue the maximum pressure campaign on Iran, indicating that the Iranian threat affects Israel, Europe, and the world, according to his claims.
America as an Ally
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel bears full responsibility for the attack on Hamas leaders in Doha, pointing out that America has no better ally than Israel.
Netanyahu claimed that "the attack on Doha did not fail," and that there is no immunity for Hamas leaders anywhere.
He justified the Israeli army's demolition of towers in Gaza by saying that "Hamas uses them as strongholds," urging the residents of the sector to leave immediately.
