أكد وزير الدولة محافظ عدن، عبد الرحمن شيخ، أمس (السبت)، أن إخراج القوات العسكرية من العاصمة اليمنية المؤقتة وتسليم مهمات الأمن للأجهزة الشرطية يعد قضية حاسمة لا تراجع عنها، في خطوة تهدف لترسيخ الطابع المدني للمدينة وإنهاء مظاهر الانقسام المسلح.
وأوضح خلال لقاء مع إعلاميين وناشطين في عدن، أن بعض المعسكرات تم إخراجها بالفعل، والعمل مستمر حتى لا تبقى إلا القوات الأمنية المعنية بحفظ الأمن فقط، مشدداً على ضرورة تحييد المدينة عن الصراعات والتجاذبات السياسية.
ولفت إلى أن السلطة المحلية لن تسمح بأعمال الفوضى أو اقتحام المؤسسات الرسمية، مع ضمان حق التعبير السلمي في ساحة العروض المخصصة للاحتجاجات.
ومنح المحافظ مسؤولي المؤسسات والمرافق الحكومية مهلة ثلاثة أشهر كفترة تقييم للأداء، مؤكداً أن معيار البقاء في المنصب سيكون الإنجاز والكفاءة.
ولفت إلى أن تحقيق تطلعات أبناء الجنوب يجب أن يمر عبر العمل المؤسسي وخدمة المواطنين وتوفير الخدمات بدلاً من الاكتفاء بالشعارات.
ولفت إلى أن القدرة متاحة لتشغيل الكهرباء 24 ساعة، مبيناً أنه سيتم دخول 100 ميغاوات إضافية قريباً بالتعاون مع البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن، كما يتم العمل على تأمين مخزون إستراتيجي من الوقود.
وتعهد المحافظ بالحفاظ على استقرار الخدمات، «وإن تعذر تحسينها فلن يُسمح بتراجعها».
وأشار إلى أن الجهود مستمرة لإعادة تشغيل مصفاة عدن.
The Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdul Rahman Sheikh, confirmed yesterday (Saturday) that the withdrawal of military forces from the temporary Yemeni capital and the handover of security duties to police agencies is a decisive issue with no retreat, in a step aimed at establishing the civilian nature of the city and ending the manifestations of armed division.
He explained during a meeting with media professionals and activists in Aden that some camps have already been evacuated, and work is ongoing to ensure that only the security forces responsible for maintaining security remain, emphasizing the necessity of neutralizing the city from conflicts and political tug-of-war.
He pointed out that the local authority will not allow acts of chaos or the storming of official institutions, while ensuring the right to peaceful expression in designated protest areas.
The governor granted officials of government institutions and facilities a three-month period for performance evaluation, confirming that the criterion for remaining in office will be achievement and efficiency.
He noted that achieving the aspirations of the people of the south must go through institutional work, serving citizens, and providing services instead of merely relying on slogans.
He highlighted that the capacity to operate electricity for 24 hours is available, indicating that an additional 100 megawatts will be introduced soon in cooperation with the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, and efforts are underway to secure a strategic fuel stockpile.
The governor pledged to maintain the stability of services, stating, "If improvement is not possible, a decline will not be allowed."
He mentioned that efforts are ongoing to restart the Aden refinery.
