وزير خارجية قطر يؤكّد تقدير بلاده للتضامن العربي الإسلامي ضد الهجوم الإسرائيلي الغادر

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, affirmed his country's appreciation for the wide solidarity from Arab and Islamic countries and friendly nations in the international community against the brutal Israeli attack that targeted residential premises in the capital, Doha, on the ninth of September.

The Qatari Foreign Minister emphasized in a speech that opened the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the emergency joint Arab-Islamic summit regarding the Israeli attack, that the treacherous Israeli aggression, which targeted the territory of the State of Qatar in broad daylight last Tuesday, is an act that reflects arrogance and recklessness in violating the sovereignty of a member state of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Arab League, and a mediator in the peace process, which constitutes a serious escalation that threatens regional peace, security, and stability, undermining any and all efforts for de-escalation in the Middle East.

He stated: “This aggression can only be described as state terrorism, a policy followed by the current extremist Israeli government that disregards international law and targets the security of the entire region in a blatant challenge to international legitimacy,” pointing out that this reckless and treacherous Israeli aggression was committed while the State of Qatar was hosting official and public negotiations, with the knowledge of the Israeli side itself, aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of prisoners and hostages.

He added: “What encourages Israel to continue on this path is the silence and inability of the international community to hold it accountable and the lack of consequences for any crime it commits,” asserting that the State of Qatar will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty or threats to its national security and will confront any threats to it by all means permitted by international law.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani called on the international community to stop applying double standards and to hold Israel accountable for all the crimes it has committed.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, confirmed that the main message of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha is solidarity with the State of Qatar from the Arab and Islamic worlds in facing the Israeli attack characterized by cowardice, treachery, and folly, emphasizing that this solidarity comes in appreciation of the important and necessary role that the State of Qatar plays, in partnership with Egypt, in mediation and good offices to stop the bloodshed of the Palestinian people and halt the Israeli war machine.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, affirmed that the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar represents an escalation by the Israeli occupation to expand the scope of war and destabilize regional security and stability, continuing to violate charters, laws, and international resolutions, stressing the need to double efforts to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and for committing crimes of genocide, settlement, and organized terrorism against the Palestinian people.

He praised the valuable efforts of the joint Arab and Islamic ministerial committee, headed by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and his leadership in the committee's movements, aimed at awakening the responsibility of effective international community parties to compel Israel, the occupying power, to comply with international law.
