حمّل وزير الخارجية المصري بدر عبدالعاطي، اليوم (السبت)، إسرائيل المسؤولية الكاملة لتعنتها وتسببها في عدم التوصل إلى اتفاق لوقف إطلاق النار في غزة، مؤكداً أن وصف تهجير الفلسطينيين بالطوعي «هراء».
وقال عبدالعاطي في مؤتمر صحفي بالقاهرة مع المفوض العام لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (أونروا) فيليب لازاريني: «بذلنا مع الشركاء كل الجهود للتوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار بغزة، لكن تعنت إسرائيل كان العقبة»، مشدداً على ضرورة قبول إسرائيل بمقترح الصفقة المطروحة.
وشدد بالقول: «قلنا إن مسألة التهجير هي خط أحمر للأردن ومصر والدول العربية، ولن يتم السماح به تحت أي ظرف من الظروف. إذا كان هناك مجاعة من صنع البشر، فهذا لدفع السكان للخروج من أرضهم، هذا هراء أن نقول إن هناك تهجيراً طوعياً»، مبيناً أنه من العبث وصف تهجير الفلسطينيين بأنه طوعي.
وأعلن عبدالعاطي رفض بلاده المشاركة في أي ظلم للشعب الفلسطيني، ومنع تصفية القضية الفلسطينية، متهماً إسرائيل بإغلاق معبر رفح رغم أنه مفتوح من الجانب المصري، قائلاً: «معبر رفح مفتوح أمام المساعدات، وإسرائيل هي من تغلقه».
وأضاف وزير الخارجية المصري: «المجاعة تتفاقم يومياً في غزة ويجب وقفها وإزالة كل القيود الخاصة بتدفق المساعدات»، مرحباً باعتزام عدد من دول العالم إعلان اعترافها بدولة فلسطين.
من جانبه، قال المفوض العام لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (أونروا) فيليب لازاريني خلال المؤتمر: «الناس في غزة يبحثون عن الطعام ويموتون صمتاً بسبب الجوع».
وأضاف: «الاستجابة الإنسانية في غزة تنهار، وعلينا أن نوقف الجوع وإيجاد حل لهذه المسألة»، داعياً إلى ضرورة السماح للمنظمات الإنسانية بتوزيع المساعدات في غزة ورفع القيود المفروضة عليها.
وأقر لازاريني بأن الوضع المالي للأونروا سيئ، وينبغي على الدول العربية تقديم الدعم المادي اللازم للوكالة.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, today (Saturday) held Israel fully responsible for its obstinacy and for causing the failure to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, emphasizing that describing the displacement of Palestinians as voluntary is "nonsense."
Abdel Aty said at a press conference in Cairo with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini: "We have made every effort with our partners to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel's obstinacy was the obstacle," stressing the need for Israel to accept the proposed deal.
He emphasized by saying: "We have stated that the issue of displacement is a red line for Jordan, Egypt, and the Arab countries, and it will not be allowed under any circumstances. If there is a man-made famine, it is to push the population out of their land; it is nonsense to say that there is voluntary displacement," indicating that it is absurd to describe the displacement of Palestinians as voluntary.
Abdel Aty announced his country's refusal to participate in any injustice against the Palestinian people and to prevent the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, accusing Israel of closing the Rafah crossing despite it being open from the Egyptian side, saying: "The Rafah crossing is open for aid, and it is Israel that closes it."
The Egyptian Foreign Minister added: "Famine is escalating daily in Gaza and must be stopped, and all restrictions on the flow of aid must be removed," welcoming the intention of several countries around the world to announce their recognition of the State of Palestine.
For his part, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, said during the conference: "People in Gaza are looking for food and dying silently from hunger."
He added: "The humanitarian response in Gaza is collapsing, and we must stop the hunger and find a solution to this issue," calling for the necessity of allowing humanitarian organizations to distribute aid in Gaza and lifting the restrictions imposed on it.
Lazzarini acknowledged that UNRWA's financial situation is dire, and Arab countries should provide the necessary financial support to the agency.
