كشف وزير الدفاع الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث عن تشكيل القوات البرية فرقة العمل المشتركة الجديدة 401، لمواجهة التهديدات واستعادة السيطرة على سماء الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
ونقل موقع «ديفينسي بريكنج» الأمريكي عن هيغسيث، قوله: إن فرقة العمل 401، فريق موحد جديد سيجمع أفضل المواهب من جميع الوكالات الأمريكية لمواجهة التهديدات واستعادة السيطرة على سماء الولايات المتحدة، موضحاً سيتم منح الفرقة أقصى قدر من السلطة للتغلب على الخصوم.
ووجه هيغسيث، وزير الجيش دان دريسكول، بإغلاق المكتب المشترك لمكافحة أنظمة الطائرات الصغيرة المسيرة التابع للجيش، والذي كان يُقيم الأسلحة المخصصة للقوات المسلحة، ولكنه لم يكن يملك الصلاحيات اللازمة لفرض الشراء، مطالباً بتشكيل فرقة العمل المشتركة لمكافحة الطائرات الصغيرة المسيرة 401 لتحسين مواءمة السلطات والموارد وتوفير القدرات، ودحر التهديدات المعادية، وتعزيز السيادة على المجال الجوي الوطني.
وسيقدم مدير فرقة العمل الجديد تقاريره مباشرة إلى نائب وزير الدفاع، وسيتمتع بسلطة الاستحواذ والمشتريات.
وتتولى فرقة العمل الجديدة إدارة جميع جهود البحث والتطوير المتعلقة بالأنظمة الجوية المسيرة المضادة للطائرات على مستوى الوزارة، ويمكنها الموافقة على تمويل يصل إلى 50 مليون دولار، يُستثنى من هذه الخطوة تطوير قدرات خاصة بالخدمة وقدرات قيادة العمليات الخاصة الأمريكية.

The U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, announced the formation of the new Joint Task Force 401 for ground forces to confront threats and regain control of the skies over the United States.
The American site "Defense Breaking" quoted Hegseth as saying that Task Force 401 is a new unified team that will bring together the best talents from all U.S. agencies to address threats and regain control of U.S. airspace, noting that the task force will be granted maximum authority to overcome adversaries.
Hegseth directed Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to close the joint office for counter-drone systems, which was evaluating weapons designated for the armed forces but lacked the necessary authority to enforce procurement. He called for the formation of Joint Task Force 401 to improve the alignment of authorities and resources, provide capabilities, counter hostile threats, and enhance sovereignty over national airspace.
The new task force director will report directly to the Deputy Secretary of Defense and will have acquisition and procurement authority.
The new task force will manage all research and development efforts related to counter-drone systems at the departmental level and can approve funding of up to $50 million, with the exception of developing service-specific capabilities and U.S. Special Operations Command capabilities.
