A Syrian government source revealed today (Thursday) that the Syrian army found surveillance and listening devices in the Jabal al-Mani area south of Damascus during a field tour on (Tuesday). According to what the Syrian news agency "SANA" reported from the source, while attempting to deal with the devices, the site was attacked by Israeli forces, resulting in casualties and the destruction of vehicles.

The source stated that aerial strikes and drone attacks continued to prevent access to the area until the evening of the following day (Wednesday), explaining that groups from the army destroyed part of the systems by targeting them with appropriate weapons and retrieving the bodies of the deceased.

The source pointed out that Israeli aircraft carried out several raids on the site recently, followed by an airborne drop whose details are still unknown, amid continued intensive reconnaissance flights.

The official Syrian television reported that what it described as "private sources" indicated that the Israeli occupation army conducted an airborne drop in the Al-Kisweh area in the Damascus countryside yesterday (Wednesday), preceded by airstrikes targeting a military site.

Sources indicated that the area witnessed intensive reconnaissance aircraft flights during the airborne drop, and a second attack within 24 hours on the military site in Jabal al-Mani near Al-Kisweh.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed yesterday its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack carried out by the Israeli occupation forces on the Al-Kisweh area, which resulted in the death of 6 soldiers from the Syrian army.

The ministry stated that the attack comes in the context of the repeated aggressive policies pursued by the Israeli occupation aimed at undermining security and stability in the region, reiterating its commitment to its legitimate right to defend its land and people in accordance with international law.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in putting an end to these repeated aggressions and to work on obligating the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their ongoing violations against Syria, its people, and its national institutions.
