أعلن المتحدث باسم القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية، صباح النعمان، اليوم (السبت)، أن عصابات داعش الإرهابية لا تُشكّل خطراً على بلاده، وذلك في ردّه على تغريدات للسفارة الأمريكية أعربت فيها عن قلقها العميق إزاء العمليات المستمرة والتوسعات الإقليمية لتنظيمي داعش في العراق والشام، والقاعدة.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء العراقية «واع» عن النعمان قوله: إن عصابات داعش الإرهابية لا تُشكّل خطراً على العراق، وقواتنا الأمنية متمكنة وعلى أهبة الاستعداد للتعامل مع أي تطورات أمنية، مضيفاً: «لدينا يومياً متابعة وعمليات أمنية واستخبارية ضد العناصر الإرهابية أينما وُجدت، وهي تتلقى ضربات مستمرة بفضل عزيمة ويقظة القوات الأمنية».
وأشار إلى أن حدود بلاده مؤمّنة بالكامل، وأن أي تطورات إقليمية لا تؤثر بشكل مباشر على أمن العراق، معرباً عن اطمئنانهم لقدرات القوات الأمنية الميدانية والاستخبارية.
كما لفت إلى أن المخاوف الدولية من عصابات داعش الإرهابية لا ترتبط بالوضع العراقي، موضحاً أن التنظيم بطبيعته يُمثل خطراً إقليمياً ودولياً ويتواجد في عدة دول، لكنه حالياً «مشلول ويتلقى ضربات مستمرة من قبل القوات الأمنية، التي تعمل بكامل العدّة والعدد وبأعلى المعنويات».
وكانت السفارة الأمريكية في بغداد قد كتبت على حسابها في «إكس»: تواصل الولايات المتحدة إعطاء الأولوية للشراكات مع الحلفاء والجهات الفاعلة الإقليمية في مكافحة الإرهاب، إذ نعرب عن قلقنا العميق إزاء العمليات المستمرة والتوسعات الإقليمية لتنظيمي داعش في العراق والشام، والقاعدة، مشيدة بالدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة التي واصلت الضغط لمكافحة الإرهاب في العراق وسورية والصومال، الأمر الذي حدّ من عمليات تنظيم داعش الإرهابي.
The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nauman, announced today (Saturday) that ISIS terrorist groups do not pose a threat to his country. This was in response to tweets from the U.S. Embassy expressing deep concern over the ongoing operations and regional expansions of ISIS in Iraq and the Levant, as well as Al-Qaeda.
The Iraqi News Agency "INA" quoted Al-Nauman as saying that ISIS terrorist groups do not pose a threat to Iraq, and our security forces are capable and on high alert to deal with any security developments. He added, "We have daily monitoring and security and intelligence operations against terrorist elements wherever they may be, and they are receiving continuous blows thanks to the determination and vigilance of the security forces."
He pointed out that the borders of his country are fully secured, and that any regional developments do not directly affect the security of Iraq, expressing confidence in the capabilities of the field and intelligence security forces.
He also noted that international concerns about ISIS terrorist groups are not related to the Iraqi situation, explaining that the organization inherently represents a regional and international threat and is present in several countries, but is currently "crippled and receiving continuous blows from the security forces, which are operating at full capacity and morale."
The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad had written on its account on "X": The United States continues to prioritize partnerships with allies and regional actors in combating terrorism, expressing our deep concern over the ongoing operations and regional expansions of ISIS in Iraq and the Levant, as well as Al-Qaeda, commending the UN member states that have continued to pressure to combat terrorism in Iraq, Syria, and Somalia, which has limited the operations of the ISIS terrorist organization.
