كشفت حزب المؤتمر الشعبي العام باليمن لـ«عكاظ»، اليوم (الأربعاء)، حملات اختطاف حوثية تعرض لها قيادات وكوادر حزب المؤتمر الذين يعيشون تحت الإقامة الجبرية في صنعاء، وذلك بعد أيام من إجبارهم على إصدار بيان يعتذرون فيه عن إقامة فعالياتهم بمناسبة ذكرى تأسيس الحزب الذي يصادف يوم 24 أغسطس.
وقالت المصادر، التي فضّلت عدم ذكر أسمها: إن جماعة مسلحة حوثية اختطفت الأمين العام للحزب في جناح صنعاء الخاضع للحوثيين، غازي أحمد علي الأحول، واثنين من مرافقيه من منزله في صنعاء، فيما تفرض حصاراً على منزل رئيس الحزب المعين من الحوثيين صادق أمين أبو راس.
وأوضح المصدر أن هناك توجهاً لحل الأحزاب السياسية والسطو على ما تبقى من ممتلكاتها، خصوصاً حزب المؤتمر الشعبي العام الذي أسسه الرئيس اليمني السابق علي عبدالله صالح، الذي اغتالته المليشيا في 4 ديسمبر 2017، وهو ما أكده القيادي القبلي الحوثي أمين عاطف الذي كتب على حسابه في «إكس»: «حل الأحزاب ضرورة حتمية».
بالمقابل، قال وزير الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة اليمني معمر الإرياني إن إعلان المؤتمر الشعبي العام في صنعاء المختطفة إلغاء أي فعاليات سياسية أو إعلامية بمناسبة الذكرى الثالثة والأربعين لتأسيسه، يكشف حجم الضغوط والتهديدات التي مورست على قياداته من قبل الحوثي التي وصلت إلى حد التخوين، والاتهام بالعمالة، والتلويح بالاعتقالات والتصفيات الجسدية، موضحاً أن هذا المشهد يذكر بأجواء انتفاضة ديسمبر 2017، حين أصر المؤتمر حينها على إحياء ذكرى تأسيسه في ميدان السبعين، فواجه تهديدات حوثية علنية بقصف الميدان واغتيال الرئيس الراحل علي عبدالله صالح، ونشر القناصة في التباب المحيطة به، واليوم، وبعد ثماني سنوات، يتكرر السيناريو ذاته بصورة أكثر فجاجة، في دلالة واضحة أن الحوثي لم ولن يتغير وأشار إلى إن هذه الحادثة تعري ازدواجية الحوثي؛ فهو لا يقبل بوجود أي شريك سياسي، ولا يعترف بالتعددية، ويخشى الجماهير أكثر من خوفه من أي شيء آخر، وتجارب السنوات الماضية أثبتت أن الحوثي يغدر بحلفائه واحداً تلو الآخر، بدءاً بالمؤتمر الشعبي، مروراً بالمشايخ والقبائل، وصولا إلى إذلال ما تبقى من قيادات المؤتمر والشخصيات السياسية والاجتماعية في صنعاء.
وخاطب الإرياني، الذي هو قيادي في حزب المؤتمر، القيادات التي لا تزال داخل صنعاء وفي مناطق الحوثي بالقول: «الرسالة واضحة للمؤتمريين، الحوثي لا يريد لكم حزباً ولا هوية سياسية، بل مجرد تابع ذليل يردد خطاباته»، مؤكداً أن الرسالة أيضاً موجهة للمجتمع الدولي، أن الحديث عن «عملية سياسية» مع الحوثي ليس سوى وهم، لأن المليشيا مشروع أحادي لا يعرف إلا الإقصاء والاستبداد، والقمع والتنكيل بخصومه.
The Yemeni General People's Congress revealed to "Okaz" today (Wednesday) the Houthi kidnapping campaigns targeting the leaders and cadres of the Congress who are living under house arrest in Sana'a, just days after they were forced to issue a statement apologizing for holding events to commemorate the anniversary of the party's founding, which falls on August 24.
Sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, stated that an armed Houthi group kidnapped the party's secretary-general in the Sana'a wing controlled by the Houthis, Ghazi Ahmed Ali Al-Ahwal, along with two of his companions from his home in Sana'a, while imposing a siege on the house of the party's leader appointed by the Houthis, Sadiq Amin Abu Ras.
The source clarified that there is a trend to dissolve political parties and seize what remains of their properties, especially the General People's Congress, which was founded by former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was assassinated by the militia on December 4, 2017. This was confirmed by Houthi tribal leader Amin Atef, who wrote on his account on "X": "Dissolving parties is an inevitable necessity."
In contrast, Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani stated that the announcement by the General People's Congress in the kidnapped Sana'a to cancel any political or media activities on the occasion of its 43rd anniversary reveals the extent of the pressures and threats exerted on its leaders by the Houthis, which reached the point of treason accusations, allegations of collaboration, and threats of arrests and physical liquidation. He explained that this scene recalls the atmosphere of the December 2017 uprising when the Congress insisted on commemorating its founding anniversary in Al-Sabeen Square, facing open Houthi threats of bombing the square and assassinating the late President Ali Abdullah Saleh, with snipers deployed in the surrounding hills. Today, after eight years, the same scenario is repeating itself in a more blatant manner, clearly indicating that the Houthis have not and will not change. He pointed out that this incident exposes the Houthis' duplicity; they do not accept the existence of any political partner, do not recognize pluralism, and fear the masses more than anything else. Experiences from the past years have proven that the Houthis betray their allies one after another, starting with the General People's Congress, passing through the sheikhs and tribes, and culminating in humiliating what remains of the Congress's leaders and political and social figures in Sana'a.
Al-Eryani, who is a leader in the Congress party, addressed the leaders still inside Sana'a and in Houthi-controlled areas, saying: "The message is clear to the Congress members; the Houthis do not want you to have a party or a political identity, but merely a submissive follower who repeats their rhetoric." He emphasized that the message is also directed at the international community, that talk of a "political process" with the Houthis is nothing but an illusion, as the militia is a unilateral project that knows only exclusion, tyranny, oppression, and persecution of its opponents.
