أعلنت سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي موافقتها النهائية على مشروع استيطاني من شأنه تقسيم الضفة الغربية المحتلة إلى شطرين بصورة فعلية، وسط تحذيرات فلسطينيين ومنظمات حقوقية من أن المشروع يدمر خطط إقامة دولة فلسطينية في المستقبل.
وظل تطوير المستوطنات في منطقة «E1»، وهي مساحة من الأرض المفتوحة الواقعة شرق القدس، قيد الدراسة لأكثر من عقدين، إلا أنه تم تجميده بسبب ضغوط أمريكية خلال الإدارات السابقة.
وحصل المشروع، اليوم (الأربعاء)، على الموافقة النهائية من لجنة التخطيط والبناء، بعد رفض آخر الالتماسات التي كانت مقدمة ضده في السادس من أغسطس الجاري.
وقال وزير المالية الإسرائيلي المتطرف بتسلئيل سموتريتش، تعليقاً على الموافقة على خطة الاستيطان في منطقة E1 شمال الضفة الغربية، إن الدولة الفلسطينية لا تُمحى بالشعارات بل بالأفعال، داعياً رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو إلى ضم الضفة الغربية.
وقال سموتريتش: أحثّ نتنياهو على إكمال العملية وتطبيق السيادة الإسرائيلية الكاملة على الضفة الغربية.
وكان رئيس وزراء الاحتلال أعلن في عام 2018 أنه سيتم هدم قرية الخان الأحمر شرقي القدس في الضفة الغربية قريباً، استجابة لمطلب زعيم حزب البيت اليهودي المتطرف نتفالي بينيت.
وتراجع نتنياهو بهذا الإعلان عن قرار التجميد الذي أعلنته حكومته بتأجيل هدم القرية حتى إشعار آخر. ويعيش نحو 200 بدوي بالخان الأحمر في أكواخ من الصفيح والخشب، ويرعون الماشية والأغنام.
وتقع القرية شرقي القدس على الطريق المؤدي إلى مدينة أريحا والبحر الميت، وتحاصرها المستوطنات الإسرائيلية من الجهات كافة.
وأثار مصير القرية اهتمام عدد من البلدان حول العالم، من بينها 8 دول في الاتحاد الأوروبي دعت إسرائيل إلى مراجعة قرارها، فيما اعتصم ناشطون فلسطينيون وأجانب في خيام داخل القرية.

The Israeli occupation authorities announced their final approval of a settlement project that would effectively divide the occupied West Bank into two parts, amid warnings from Palestinians and human rights organizations that the project destroys plans for the establishment of a Palestinian state in the future.
The development of settlements in the "E1" area, an open space located east of Jerusalem, has been under study for more than two decades, but it was frozen due to American pressure during previous administrations.
The project received final approval today (Wednesday) from the planning and building committee, after the last appeals against it were rejected on August 6th.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a far-right figure, commented on the approval of the settlement plan in the E1 area in northern West Bank, stating that a Palestinian state is not erased by slogans but by actions, calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex the West Bank.
Smotrich said: I urge Netanyahu to complete the process and apply full Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.
The Prime Minister of the occupation announced in 2018 that the Khan al-Ahmar village east of Jerusalem in the West Bank would soon be demolished, in response to a demand from the leader of the far-right Jewish Home party, Naftali Bennett.
With this announcement, Netanyahu reversed his government's decision to freeze the demolition of the village until further notice. About 200 Bedouins live in Khan al-Ahmar in tin and wooden shacks, herding cattle and sheep.
The village is located east of Jerusalem on the road leading to Jericho and the Dead Sea, and is surrounded by Israeli settlements on all sides.
The fate of the village has drawn the attention of several countries around the world, including 8 countries in the European Union that called on Israel to reconsider its decision, while Palestinian and foreign activists staged a sit-in in tents inside the village.
