نفت وزارة الخارجية الفرنسية أمس (السبت)، التهم التي وجهها المجلس العسكري في مالي ضد أحد مواطنيها ومنها التآمر لزعزعة استقرار البلاد، مؤكدة أن المواطن الفرنسي المحتجز في مالي موظف في السفارة الفرنسية بالعاصمة باماكو.
ووصفت الوزارة هذه التهم بأنها «لا أساس لها»، موضحة أنها على تواصل مع السلطات المالية لضمان إطلاق سراحه فوراً.
واعتُقل موظف السفارة، الذي حددته السلطات المالية باسم يان فيزيلييه، مع اثنين من الجنرالات وضباط عسكريين آخرين، بتهمة التخطيط لزعزعة استقرار القيادة العسكرية.
وأعلنت الحكومة التي يقودها الجيش في مالي في بيان الجمعة إلقاء السلطات القبض على جنرالين ومواطن فرنسي بتهمة المشاركة في ما يشتبه في أنها مؤامرة لزعزعة استقرار البلاد.
وكانت الحكومة في مالي قد قالت إنها احتجزت أكثر من 30 جندياً ومسؤولاً عسكرياً للاشتباه في محاولتهم زعزعة استقرار حكومة جويتا، وبحسب وزارة إدارة الأراضي فإن من بين المعتقلين، فرنسي يدعى يان فيزيلييه.
واتهمت الوزارة في البيان فيزيلييه بـ«العمل لصالح أجهزة مخابرات فرنسية لحشد سياسيين وعسكريين وشخصيات من المجتمع المدني».
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied yesterday (Saturday) the accusations made by the military council in Mali against one of its citizens, including conspiracy to destabilize the country, confirming that the French citizen detained in Mali is an employee at the French embassy in the capital, Bamako.
The ministry described these accusations as "baseless," explaining that it is in contact with the Malian authorities to ensure his immediate release.
The embassy employee, identified by Malian authorities as Yann Vezillier, was arrested along with two generals and other military officers on charges of planning to destabilize the military leadership.
The military-led government in Mali announced in a statement on Friday that authorities had arrested two generals and a French citizen on charges of participating in what is suspected to be a conspiracy to destabilize the country.
The government in Mali had stated that it had detained more than 30 soldiers and military officials on suspicion of attempting to destabilize the government of Goita, and according to the Ministry of Territorial Administration, among those detained is a Frenchman named Yann Vezillier.
The ministry accused Vezillier in the statement of "working for French intelligence agencies to rally politicians, military personnel, and civil society figures."
