The occupying forces launched a series of airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling on the Gaza Strip in recent hours, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries in various areas. The Israeli army announced today (Saturday) that it has expanded its military operations, confirming that its forces bombed eastern Gaza City.

Medical sources revealed that around 60 Palestinians were killed following airstrikes targeting them while they were receiving humanitarian aid in the Zikim area and the Netzarim axis in the devastated central and northern parts of the strip.

Sources announced the arrival of 6 dead and 26 injured to Al-Shifa Hospital after being shot by Israeli forces who opened fire on Palestinians waiting for aid in the same area.

Meanwhile, a medical source reported casualties and injuries due to an Israeli airstrike targeting Palestinians in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. Eyewitnesses reported that 7 victims were killed and others injured as a result of shelling on a tent housing displaced persons near Al-Majda School in Waseela, west of Gaza City.

The Israeli occupying forces continue their intensive artillery shelling on the Zaitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City for several days, coinciding with the advance of tanks around Street 8. At the same time, warplanes continue to destroy dozens of homes and demolish residential buildings in the center of Khan Younis, leaving widespread devastation.

Concerns have escalated with the repeated targeting of displaced persons and shelter areas, leading to a complete collapse of the humanitarian system in the Gaza Strip, as hospitals suffer from a severe shortage of medical resources, while hundreds of thousands of displaced persons live in harsh conditions amid a critical shortage of food, water, and medicine.
