Hamas announced that the negotiations starting in Cairo today (Wednesday) focus on ending the war in Gaza, delivering aid, and achieving Palestinian national consensus.

The movement stated that a delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya arrived in Cairo to discuss with Egyptian officials the latest developments related to the genocide in Gaza and the overall situation in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

Hamas leader Taher al-Nounou said that the movement's delegation has begun preliminary talks for meetings that will start today, focusing on ways to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, deliver aid, and end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, as well as discussing internal Palestinian relations to reach national agreements on various political issues, and bilateral relations with Egypt and ways to develop them.

Al-Nounou praised the efforts made by Egypt on all previous issues under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, emphasizing that relations with Egypt are stable and strong, and joint work has not ceased on various issues.

Israeli media revealed that Egypt offered Hamas a comprehensive deal that includes the release of all Israeli prisoners held by them and disarming, in exchange for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of Palestinians.

An Egyptian official source announced yesterday (Tuesday) that the visit of the Hamas delegation to Cairo comes after a period of stagnation in the negotiation process, confirming that the Cairo talks aim to push once again towards resuming negotiations and making progress towards reaching a ceasefire agreement.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated in statements to Israeli media his rejection of any partial deals regarding the return of prisoners.
