على خلفية تصاعد التوتر مع الولايات المتحدة، أكدت الرئاسة الروسية ألا حدود أمامها لنشر الصواريخ متوسطة المدى. وقال المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديميتري بيسكوف، اليوم (الثلاثاء): «إن روسيا تعتبر نفسها مخولة باتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لنشر صواريخ متوسطة المدى ولم تعد مقيدة بأي شيء»، بحسب ما نقلت وكالة تاس الروسية.
وبشأن التلويح الأمربكي بفرض عقوبات على الهند لشرائها النفط الروسي، أفاد بيسكوف بأن موسكو تتابع التهديدات الأمريكية للهند وتعتبرها غير قانونية، مؤكدا أنه على الدول ذات السيادة أن تختار بحرية شركاءها التجاريين.
وأعلنت وزارة الخارجية الروسية، أمس الإثنين، أن موسكو لم تعد ملزمة بوقف نشر الصواريخ القصيرة ومتوسطة المدى.
وقالت في بيان: «بما أن الوضع يتطور نحو النشر الفعلي لصواريخ برية متوسطة وقصيرة المدى أمريكية الصنع في أوروبا ومنطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادي، فإننا نشير إلى أن شروط الحفاظ على وقف أحادي الجانب لنشر أسلحة مماثلة لم تعد قائمة».
من جانبه، أنحى الرئيس الروسي السابق دميتري ميدفيديف بالمسؤولية على دول حلف شمال الأطلسي في تخلي موسكو عن الوقف الاختياري لنشر صواريخ نووية قصيرة ومتوسطة المدى. ولوح بأن بلاده ستتخذ خطوات أخرى ردا على ذلك.
وكتب ميدفيديف باللغة الإنجليزية على موقع إكس بيان وزارة الخارجية الروسية بشأن سحب الوقف الاختياري لنشر صواريخ متوسطة وقصيرة المدى، جاء نتيجة لسياسة دول حلف الناتو المعادية لروسيا. وأضاف هذا واقع جديد سيتعين على جميع خصومنا أن يضعوه في الاعتبار.. توقعوا المزيد من الخطوات.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أمر الأسبوع الماضي بإرسال غواصتين نوويتين إلى مناطق قريبة من روسيا، وسط تجدد التوتر مع الكرملين بسبب الملف الأوكراني، ورفض القيادة الروسية وقف الحرب والتفاوض إلا بشروطها.
وانسحبت الولايات المتحدة من معاهدة الصواريخ النووية متوسطة المدى عام 2019.
فيما أعلنت روسيا أنها لن تنشر مثل هذه الأسلحة شريطة ألا تفعل واشنطن ذلك.

Amid escalating tensions with the United States, the Russian presidency confirmed that there are no limits to its deployment of medium-range missiles. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated today (Tuesday): "Russia considers itself authorized to take the necessary measures to deploy medium-range missiles and is no longer constrained by anything," according to the Russian news agency TASS.
Regarding the American threat to impose sanctions on India for purchasing Russian oil, Peskov noted that Moscow is monitoring the American threats to India and considers them illegal, emphasizing that sovereign countries should freely choose their trade partners.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced yesterday, Monday, that Moscow is no longer obligated to halt the deployment of short- and medium-range missiles.
It stated in a statement: "As the situation evolves towards the actual deployment of American-made medium and short-range ground missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, we point out that the conditions for maintaining a unilateral moratorium on the deployment of similar weapons are no longer in place."
For his part, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev blamed NATO countries for Moscow's abandonment of the voluntary moratorium on deploying short- and medium-range nuclear missiles. He hinted that his country would take further steps in response.
Medvedev wrote in English on X about the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement regarding the withdrawal of the voluntary moratorium on deploying medium and short-range missiles, which came as a result of NATO countries' anti-Russian policies. He added that this is a new reality that all our adversaries will have to take into account... Expect more steps.
Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to areas near Russia, amid renewed tensions with the Kremlin over the Ukrainian issue, and the Russian leadership's refusal to halt the war and negotiate except on its terms.
The United States withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in 2019.
Meanwhile, Russia announced that it would not deploy such weapons as long as Washington does not do so.
