في مأساة جديدة، تمكنت الأجهزة الأمنية في محافظة أبين جنوب اليمن، من انتشال جثث عشرات المهاجرين الإثيوبيين غير الشرعيين، الذين غرقوا قبالة سواحل مدينة زنجبار أثناء محاولتهم التسلل إلى الأراضي اليمنية عبر قوارب تهريب قادمة من القرن الأفريقي.
وأعلنت الأجهزة الأمنية في بيان، اليوم (الأحد)، أن الجثث التي جرى انتشالها نقلت إلى مستشفيات مدينة زنجبار، مؤكدة أن عمليات البحث لا تزال مستمرة عن جثث أخرى يُعتقد أنها ما زالت مفقودة في عرض البحر.
ودعت جميع الجهات المحلية والدولية إلى سرعة التدخل لوقف تدفق المهاجرين غير الشرعيين عبر المياه الإقليمية اليمنية، وحذرت من خطر تصاعد الكارثة الإنسانية والأمنية نتيجة استغلال شبكات التهريب للأوضاع الراهنة في المنطقة.
وتعكس الحادثة المأساوية تفاقم أزمة الهجرة غير الشرعية التي يتعرض لها اليمن، الأمر الذي يتطلب تحركاً دولياً عاجلاً للتعامل مع تداعياتها الخطيرة.
يذكر أن السواحل اليمنية، خصوصاً في أبين وشبوة ولحج، تشهد العديد من حوادث الغرق لقوارب التهريب التي تقل مهاجرين من القرن الأفريقي، في ظل غياب الرقابة وازدهار شبكات التهريب التي تغري المهاجرين برحلات محفوفة بالموت نحو اليمن، ومنها إلى دول الخليج.

In a new tragedy, security forces in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, managed to recover the bodies of dozens of illegal Ethiopian migrants who drowned off the coast of the city of Zinjibar while attempting to sneak into Yemeni territory via smuggling boats coming from the Horn of Africa.
Security forces announced in a statement today (Sunday) that the recovered bodies were transferred to hospitals in the city of Zinjibar, confirming that search operations are still ongoing for other bodies believed to be missing at sea.
They called on all local and international entities to intervene quickly to stop the flow of illegal migrants through Yemeni territorial waters, warning of the danger of escalating the humanitarian and security disaster as smuggling networks exploit the current situation in the region.
The tragic incident reflects the worsening crisis of illegal migration that Yemen is facing, which requires urgent international action to address its serious repercussions.
It is worth noting that Yemeni shores, particularly in Abyan, Shabwa, and Lahij, witness many drowning incidents involving smuggling boats carrying migrants from the Horn of Africa, amid a lack of oversight and the flourishing of smuggling networks that entice migrants with perilous journeys to Yemen, and from there to Gulf countries.
