العراق ينفي صدور قرارات تمنع دخول السوريين

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior denied rumors about the issuance of an official decision banning Syrians from entering the country. It announced in a statement published on its Facebook page late Friday/Saturday that "all individuals holding valid entry visas, whether for tourism or visit purposes, are allowed to enter Iraqi territory normally, according to the approved legal procedures."

The spokesperson for the Supreme Security Committee for the million-visitor events, Brigadier Mukdad Miri, urged the media to verify accuracy and not to be swayed by rumors, emphasizing his country's commitment to facilitating the entry of visitors from various countries, reflecting Iraq's hospitable image and ensuring the safety and security of everyone.

Iraqi authorities had reinforced security measures at their borders with Syria following the fall of the previous regime led by Bashar al-Assad on December 8, 2024, out of fear of fighters or armed groups infiltrating into Iraqi territory.
