يتوجه وزير الخارجية السوري، أسعد الشيباني، غداً الخميس إلى العاصمة الروسية موسكو، في زيارة رسمية تحمل دلالات سياسية بارزة، كونها الأولى منذ بدء مرحلة جديدة في العلاقات بين دمشق وموسكو.
ومن المقرر أن يجري الشيباني محادثات مع كبار المسؤولين الروس حول تعزيز التعاون الثنائي وترتيب الملفات المشتركة على الصعيدين السياسي والعسكري.
وتأتي الزيارة استجابة لدعوة سابقة من وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف، الذي شدد خلال لقاء جمعه بالشيباني في أنقرة على أهمية الحفاظ على الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين البلدين.
وتسعى موسكو، عبر هذه الاتصالات المكثفة مع القيادة السورية الجديدة، إلى تأكيد استمرار وجودها العسكري في طرطوس واللاذقية، ودعم مسار الاستقرار الداخلي والوفاق الوطني في سورية بعد سقوط نظام بشار الأسد.
The Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Shaibani, will head to the Russian capital, Moscow, tomorrow, Thursday, on an official visit that carries significant political implications, as it is the first since the beginning of a new phase in relations between Damascus and Moscow.
Al-Shaibani is scheduled to hold talks with senior Russian officials regarding the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and the arrangement of joint files on both political and military fronts.
This visit comes in response to a previous invitation from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who emphasized during a meeting with Al-Shaibani in Ankara the importance of maintaining the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Through these intensive communications with the new Syrian leadership, Moscow seeks to reaffirm its continued military presence in Tartus and Latakia, and to support the path of internal stability and national reconciliation in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
