رحبت دولة قطر بإعلان رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، عزم بلاده الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين ودعمها لحل الدولتين، وعدّته تطورًا مهمًا ينسجم مع الشرعية الدولية وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، ويسهم في تعزيز فرص تحقيق السلام العادل والشامل في المنطقة.
وأكدت وزارة الخارجية القطرية، في بيان اليوم، أن هذا الإعلان يتسق مع توافق الدول المشاركة في المؤتمر الدولي لتسوية القضية الفلسطينية بالوسائل السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين، على خريطة طريق هدفها زيادة الاعترافات بالدولة الفلسطينية، مما يمثل دعمًا مهمًا للحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني، بما يمكنه من تقرير مصيره وإقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود عام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
وجددت دعوة دولة قطر لجميع الدول التي لم تعترف بعد بدولة فلسطين، إلى اتخاذ خطوات مماثلة تعكس الالتزام بالقانون الدولي، وتدعم الحقوق التاريخية والثابتة للشعب الفلسطيني على أرضه.
Qatar welcomed the announcement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer regarding his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine and support for the two-state solution, considering it an important development that aligns with international legitimacy and relevant Security Council resolutions, and contributes to enhancing the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement today that this announcement is consistent with the consensus of the countries participating in the international conference for resolving the Palestinian issue through peaceful means and implementing the two-state solution, with a roadmap aimed at increasing recognitions of the Palestinian state, which represents important support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, enabling them to determine their own destiny and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Qatar renewed its call to all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take similar steps that reflect a commitment to international law and support the historical and established rights of the Palestinian people on their land.
