في إطار جهوده الإنسانية الكبيرة، نجح فريق «مسام» الأسبوع الماضي في نزع 1151 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة ليرتفع بذلك إجمالي ما تم نزعه منذ مطلع الشهر الجاري إلى 4852 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة.
وأفاد مشروع «مسام» في تغريدات على حسابه في «إكس» اليوم (الأحد) بأن فرقه الميدانية تمكّنت منذ انطلاق المشروع وحتى الآن من نزع 146957 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات و6827 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، إضافة إلى 345554 ذخيرة غير منفجرة و8250 عبوة ناسفة، وتطهير 68694881 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي.
وأشاد مسؤولون يمنيون بالدور الرائد الذي يلعبه مشروع «مسام» في حماية الشعب اليمني وتفكيك التهديدات التي تستهدف بدرجة رئيسية البسطاء من المواطنيين خصوصاً رعاة المواشي والمزارعين وعابري الطرقات، موضحين أن نجاح مشروع «مسام» في تفكيك ونزع أكثر من نصف مليون لغم يعد انجازاً كبيراً خصوصاً في ظل وجود حقول ألغام في عدد من مناطق التماس.
وثمن نائب وزير النقل اليمني ناصر شريف الدعم السعودي السخي والتجديد المستمر لمشروع «مسام»، مؤكداً أن الجهود الكبيرة الذي بذلها المشرع أسهمت في حماية المسافرين على الخطوط الطويلة أو في الطرقات بين القرى والمدن والمحافظات التي كانت موبوءة بالألغام والمتفجرات التي زرعها الحوثيون وراح ضحيتها عدد من المسافرين.
وقال شريف لـ«عكاظ»: مشروع «مسام» لم يحمِ الإنسان اليمني فقط بل ساهم في حماية وتأمين البنية التحتية خصوصاً الطرق والجسور التي تعرض بعضها للتفخيخ، فضلاً عن تأمين الساحل اليمني وعودة الموانئ للعمل.
وأشار إلى أن مشروع «مسام» السعودي من أنجح المشاريع الإنسانية في اليمن بل شريك رئيسي ومهم مع الحكومة اليمنية، ودوره لا يقتصر على نزع الألغام بل تأهيل الكوادر اليمنية وتفكيك الألغام والعبوات الناسفة ومخلفات الحرب والتخلص منها وتوعية المجتمع بخطرها، ولعلنا لاحظنا كيف نجحت التوعية في حماية الطفولة والنساء في محافظة تعز حين حاول الحوثيون زرع عبوات ناسفة داخل حقيبة مستلزمات نسائية للتمويه، معرباً عن تقديره للدعم السعودي المستمر لهذا المشروع الرائد وحرص القيادة السعودية على مساعدة الشعب اليمني على الأصعدة كافة كون المملكة تعتبر الداعم الرئيسي للشعب اليمني في مختلف المجالات الإنسانية والتنموية والاقتصادية والإغاثية.
As part of its significant humanitarian efforts, the "Masam" team succeeded last week in removing 1,151 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, bringing the total removed since the beginning of this month to 4,852 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices.
The "Masam" project reported in tweets on its account on "X" today (Sunday) that its field teams have managed to remove 146,957 anti-tank mines and 6,827 anti-personnel mines since the project started, in addition to 345,554 unexploded ordnance and 8,250 explosive devices, and to clear 68,694,881 square meters of land.
Yemeni officials praised the pioneering role played by the "Masam" project in protecting the Yemeni people and dismantling threats that primarily target the simple citizens, especially livestock herders, farmers, and passersby, explaining that the success of the "Masam" project in dismantling and removing more than half a million mines is a significant achievement, especially in light of the presence of minefields in several contact areas.
The Yemeni Deputy Minister of Transport, Nasser Sharif, valued the generous Saudi support and the continuous renewal of the "Masam" project, affirming that the significant efforts made by the project have contributed to protecting travelers on long routes or on roads between villages, cities, and provinces that were infested with mines and explosives planted by the Houthis, which have claimed the lives of several travelers.
Sharif told "Okaz": The "Masam" project has not only protected the Yemeni people but has also contributed to securing infrastructure, especially roads and bridges, some of which were subjected to bombing, in addition to securing the Yemeni coast and restoring ports to operation.
He pointed out that the Saudi "Masam" project is one of the most successful humanitarian projects in Yemen and a key and important partner with the Yemeni government. Its role is not limited to mine removal but also includes training Yemeni personnel, dismantling mines and explosive devices, clearing remnants of war, and raising community awareness about their dangers. We have noticed how successful awareness campaigns have protected children and women in Taiz Governorate when the Houthis attempted to plant explosive devices inside a bag of women's supplies for camouflage. He expressed his appreciation for the ongoing Saudi support for this pioneering project and the Saudi leadership's commitment to assisting the Yemeni people on all fronts, as the Kingdom is considered the main supporter of the Yemeni people in various humanitarian, developmental, economic, and relief fields.
