The number of injured during the clashes between Iraqi security forces and an armed faction in the capital Baghdad has risen to 15, with reports of casualties among the security forces. The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced via a statement on the platform "X" that 14 individuals involved in the armed assaults within one of the Ministry of Agriculture's departments in the Karkh area were arrested.

Informed sources confirmed that 9 members of the Iraqi security forces were injured during clashes with an armed faction in eastern Baghdad today (Sunday). Iraqi sources reported that military reinforcements were sent to the area following the outbreak of the clashes. According to the sources, Iraqi security forces are surrounding the headquarters of the armed factions in the Al-Doura area of the capital.

These events come just a few days after an Iraqi security member was injured and suspects were arrested during clashes in the Al-Huddam area in Maysan, eastern Iraq.

A security source announced that on Thursday, a supporting force from the Iraqi army, in cooperation with police units, went out to execute judicial arrest warrants in the Al-Huddam area based on confirmed information. He added that "upon their arrival, they came under a barrage of gunfire from all directions, resulting in one security member being seriously injured and taken to a hospital."

He noted that the security forces exercised the highest levels of restraint according to the rules of engagement, but the other side resumed intensifying gunfire. In response, the security force retaliated against the source of the gunfire and established a security cordon. After a raid and search operation, a group of armed individuals was arrested, and various firearms were seized in their possession.
