أعلنت الرئاسة السورية، اليوم (الأحد)، تسلّم الرئيس أحمد الشرع التقرير النهائي من اللجنة الوطنية المستقلة المكلفة بالكشف والتحقيق في الأحداث التي شهدها الساحل السوري في أوائل شهر مارس الماضي، موضحة إنها طلبت من اللجنة الوطنية عقد مؤتمر صحفي لعرض نتائجها الرئيسة بما يحفظ كرامة الضحايا ويحترم سلامة الإجراءات القضائية وحماية الأدلة، وذلك في أقرب وقت عملي ممكن.
وقالت الرئاسة السورية، في بيان صحفي: «هذه اللجنة أُنشئت لضمان سير سورية في مسار لا يشكل فيه أيّ انتهاكات أو محاولات لطمس الحقيقة التي هي جزء من مستقبل سورية، سواء المتعلق بالأحداث الساحلية أو بأي وقائع أخرى من شمالها إلى جنوبها»، معربة عن تقديرها للجهود المخلصة التي بذلها أعضاء اللجنة، وستقوم بفحص النتائج الواردة في التقرير بدقة وعناية تامّتين لضمان اتخاذ خطوات من شأنها الدفع بمبادئ الحقيقة والعدالة والمساءلة ومنع تكرار الانتهاكات في هذه الوقائع وفي مسار بناء سورية الجديدة.
وشهد الساحل السوري معارك دامية راح ضحيتها قتلى وجرحى من المدنيين وقوات الأمن العام ومسلحين ينتمون لقوات النظام السابق بعد هجوم على قوات الأمن العام، مما دفع بالرئيس الشرع إلى تشكيل لجنة تحقيق في 10 أبريل الماضي ومنحها فرصة ثلاثة أشهر غير قابلة للتمديد.
وأفصحت لجنة التحقيق في وقت سابق أنها أجرت 10 زيارات إلى بانياس، واستمعت فيها إلى أكثر من 300 إفادة، مشيرة إلى أنها دونت 95 إفادة بشأن الأحداث وفق المعايير القانونية في مدينة اللاذقية، كما تلقت أكثر من 30 بلاغاً بشأن الأحداث وعاينت 9 مواقع، واستمعت إلى شهادات جهات أمنية وعسكرية ومدنية في اللاذقية، ودخلت كل المناطق التي شهدت أحداثاً.
The Syrian presidency announced today (Sunday) that President Ahmad al-Shara has received the final report from the independent national committee tasked with uncovering and investigating the events that occurred on the Syrian coast in early March. It clarified that it has requested the national committee to hold a press conference to present its main findings in a manner that preserves the dignity of the victims, respects the integrity of judicial procedures, and protects the evidence, as soon as practically possible.
The Syrian presidency stated in a press release: "This committee was established to ensure that Syria proceeds on a path free from any violations or attempts to obscure the truth, which is part of Syria's future, whether related to coastal events or any other incidents from its north to its south." It expressed appreciation for the sincere efforts made by the committee members and will carefully and thoroughly examine the results contained in the report to ensure that steps are taken to promote the principles of truth, justice, and accountability, and to prevent the recurrence of violations in these incidents and in the process of building a new Syria.
The Syrian coast witnessed bloody battles that resulted in casualties and injuries among civilians, public security forces, and armed individuals belonging to the former regime's forces following an attack on public security forces. This prompted President al-Shara to form an investigation committee on April 10, granting it a non-extendable three-month period.
The investigation committee previously disclosed that it conducted 10 visits to Baniyas, during which it listened to more than 300 testimonies, noting that it recorded 95 testimonies regarding the events according to legal standards in the city of Latakia. It also received more than 30 reports regarding the events, inspected 9 sites, and heard testimonies from security, military, and civilian entities in Latakia, entering all areas that witnessed events.
