أعلن وزير الدفاع السوري مرهف أبو قصرة، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، الاتفاق على وقف إطلاق النار في السويداء، مؤكداً أن الجيش سيتعامل مع أي استهداف من قبل الخارجين عن القانون بالسويداء، فيما أكد شهود عيان أن الجيش السوري بدأ سحب الآليات الثقيلة وخفض قواته في المنطقة. وقال أبو قصرة في بيان نقلته وكالة الأنباء السورية (سانا): «إلى كافة الوحدات العاملة داخل مدينة السويداء، نعلن عن وقف تام لإطلاق النار بعد الاتفاق مع وجهاء وأعيان المدينة». وأكد وزير الدفاع السوري أن هناك تعليمات صارمة للقوات في السويداء بتأمين الأهالي وحفظ الممتلكات، لافتاً إلى أنه سيبدأ بتسليم أحياء مدينة السويداء للأمن الداخلي بعد تمشيطها. ووجه الجيش نداء ببدء انتشار قوات الشرطة العسكرية داخل مدينة السويداء لضبط السلوك العسكري ومحاسبة المتجاوزين.
وكانت القوات السورية دخلت مدينة السويداء ذات الأغلبية الدرزية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، بعد اشتباكات شهدتها على مدار اليومين الماضيين، للمرة الأولى منذ تولي السلطة السورية الجديدة مقاليد الحكم بعد سقوط نظام بشار الأسد في الـ8 من ديسمبر الماضي.
وجاءت هذه التطورات بعد أن طلب زعماء الدروز، الذين كانوا يرفضون أي انتشار للقوات السورية، من المقاتلين الدروز إلقاء أسلحتهم والسماح للقوات الحكومية بالدخول.
وأعلنت وزارة الدفاع السورية، أن قوات الجيش تبدأ دخول مدينة السويداء، ودعت في بيان الأهالي إلى التزام المنازل، مؤكدة أن المجموعات الخارجة عن القانون تحاول الهروب من المواجهة عبر الانسحاب إلى وسط مدينة السويداء.
وفرضت القوات الحكومية حظراً للتجول في مدينة السويداء «حتى إشعار آخر». وأفادت وزارة الداخلية بأن القوات ستباشر الدخول إلى مركز مدينة السويداء.
وقال قائد الأمن الداخلي في محافظة السويداء العميد أحمد الدالاتي، إن قوات وزارتي الداخلية والدفاع ستباشر الدخول إلى مركز مدينة السويداء، معلنة بشكل متزامن فرض حظر تجول في شوارع المدينة حتى إشعار آخر.
ورحّبت الرئاسة الروحية الدرزية، بدخول القوات الحكومية إلى المدينة، داعية الفصائل المسلحة إلى التعاون معها وعدم مقاومة دخولها، وتسليم سلاحها لوزارة الداخلية.
وقالت الهيئة المقربة من الشيخ الدرزي البارز حكمت الهجري في بيان الثلاثاء: «نرحب بدخول قوات وزارتي الداخلية»، داعية كل الفصائل المسلحة في السويداء إلى التعاون معها. ودعت إلى فتح حوار مع الحكومة السورية لعلاج تداعيات الأحداث وتفعيل مؤسسات الدولة بالتعاون مع أبناء المحافظة.
وتحدث شهود عيان في قرية المزرعة على مشارف السويداء، عن سماع أصوات قذائف وانفجارات، ودخول أرتال عسكرية محيط مدينة السويداء مع نشر راجمات صواريخ ومدفعية ثقيلة تابعة لقوات وزارتي الدفاع والداخلية في محيط المدينة.
وأكدوا أن الاشتباكات مستمرة في بعض البلدات، وأن هناك وحدات عسكرية تتجهز لدخول المدينة.
وشهدت السويداء خلال اليومين الماضيين واحدة من أعنف المواجهات منذ إطاحة نظام بشار الأسد بين مسلحين بدو وفصائل مسلحة درزية قبل تدخل القوات الحكومية.
ومنذ مايو الماضي، يتولّى مسلحون دروز إدارة الأمن في السويداء، بموجب اتفاق بين الفصائل المحلية والسلطات، لكن ينتشر في ريف المحافظة مسلحون من عشائر البدو السنة.
وكان وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني، شدد أمس الاثنين، على أن حمل السلاح يقع ضمن مسؤولية الدولة وحدها. وأضاف أن سورية تستعيد تدريجياً مكانها الطبيعي في المحيطين العربي والدولي. وفي رده على محاولات بعض الأطراف التدخل في الشأن السوري، قال الشيباني: «لا أحد مخول بالتدخل في شؤوننا الداخلية».
من جانبها، كشفت وزارة الدفاع السورية مقتل 18 عنصراً من الجيش بهجمات المجموعات المسلحة في السويداء. وأفادت بأنها دفعت بوحدات إضافية إلى أطراف السويداء، في إطار تعزيز الانتشار الأمني وفرض الاستقرار بعد التوترات الأخيرة.
Syrian Defense Minister Marhaf Abu Qasra announced today (Tuesday) the agreement to cease fire in Sweida, confirming that the army will deal with any targeting by lawbreakers in Sweida. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the Syrian army began withdrawing heavy equipment and reducing its forces in the area. Abu Qasra stated in a statement reported by the Syrian News Agency (SANA): "To all units operating within the city of Sweida, we announce a complete ceasefire after an agreement with the notables and elders of the city." The Syrian Defense Minister emphasized that there are strict instructions for the forces in Sweida to secure the citizens and protect property, noting that he will begin handing over neighborhoods in the city of Sweida to internal security after they are cleared. The army issued a call to start deploying military police forces within the city of Sweida to regulate military conduct and hold violators accountable.
Syrian forces entered the city of Sweida, which has a Druze majority, today (Tuesday), following clashes that occurred over the past two days, marking the first time since the new Syrian authority took power after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8 of last year.
These developments came after Druze leaders, who had previously rejected any deployment of Syrian forces, requested Druze fighters to lay down their arms and allow government forces to enter.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that army forces are beginning to enter the city of Sweida, and in a statement, urged citizens to stay at home, confirming that lawless groups are trying to escape confrontation by withdrawing to the center of the city of Sweida.
The government forces imposed a curfew in the city of Sweida "until further notice." The Ministry of Interior reported that the forces will begin entering the center of the city of Sweida.
Brigadier General Ahmed al-Dalati, the head of internal security in Sweida province, stated that the forces of the Ministries of Interior and Defense will begin entering the center of the city of Sweida, simultaneously announcing a curfew in the streets of the city until further notice.
The Druze spiritual leadership welcomed the entry of government forces into the city, calling on armed factions to cooperate with them and not resist their entry, and to hand over their weapons to the Ministry of Interior.
In a statement on Tuesday, the body close to prominent Druze Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri said: "We welcome the entry of the forces of the Ministries of Interior," calling on all armed factions in Sweida to cooperate with them. They called for opening a dialogue with the Syrian government to address the repercussions of the events and activate state institutions in cooperation with the people of the province.
Eyewitnesses in the village of al-Mazra'a on the outskirts of Sweida reported hearing sounds of shells and explosions, and the entry of military convoys surrounding the city of Sweida, along with the deployment of rocket launchers and heavy artillery belonging to the forces of the Ministries of Defense and Interior around the city.
They confirmed that clashes are ongoing in some towns, and that military units are preparing to enter the city.
Sweida witnessed one of the fiercest confrontations in the past two days since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime between armed Bedouins and Druze armed factions before the intervention of government forces.
Since last May, armed Druze have been managing security in Sweida, under an agreement between local factions and the authorities, but armed groups from Sunni Bedouin tribes are present in the countryside of the province.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani emphasized yesterday (Monday) that the responsibility for carrying weapons lies solely with the state. He added that Syria is gradually regaining its natural position in the Arab and international arenas. In response to attempts by some parties to intervene in Syrian affairs, Shibani said: "No one is authorized to interfere in our internal affairs."
For its part, the Syrian Ministry of Defense revealed the death of 18 army personnel in attacks by armed groups in Sweida. It reported that it has deployed additional units to the outskirts of Sweida as part of efforts to enhance security presence and impose stability following recent tensions.
