The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today (Sunday) the death of the former representative of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the "Thar Allah" headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard in Tehran, Ali Taeb, without disclosing the causes of death.
The Revolutionary Guard limited itself to a brief statement announcing the death, and the new commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Pakpour, offered his condolences to the brother of the deceased, Hussein Taeb, confirming that the death occurred on Thursday.
The Iranian newspaper Shargh reported that the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, raising questions in some media circles and among observers, especially since Taeb was a former representative of the Supreme Leader at the "Thar Allah" headquarters, which is considered one of the most prominent units of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's central command responsible directly for internal security. He was also on the list of targets that Israel aimed at during the recent escalation between the two sides that lasted for 12 days.
It is noteworthy that Ali Taeb is a member of a family with significant security and intelligence influence in the Iranian regime, especially since his brother Hussein Taeb served as the head of the Revolutionary Guard's intelligence organization for years and currently holds the position of special advisor to the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, while his other brother Mehdi Taeb heads the "Ammar Headquarters," a coordinating center linked to the fundamentalist current in Iran.
