أعلن مساعد وزير الخارجية الإيراني، سعيد خطيب زاده، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، تلقي بلاده رسائل من الجانب الأمريكي خلال الأيام الماضية حول رغبتهم في الحوار.
وقال زاده للصحفيين «تلقّينا رسائل من الجانب الأمريكي خلال الأيام الماضية، تُشير إلى رغبتهم في العودة إلى طاولة المفاوضات»، مضيفاً: كنّا في خضمّ المفاوضات عندما تمّ الهجوم على طاولة التفاوض، كما كنا نجري محادثات مع الأوروبيين أيضاً، إلا أنّ الولايات المتحدة هاجمت تلك الطاولة، في إشارة إلى الاستهداف الأمريكي للمنشآت النووية.
وأشار مساعد وزير الخارجية الإيراني إلى أن «التفاوض يحتاج إلى حدّ أدنى من الثقة»، مبيناً إن «الاعتداء الصارخي الذي وقع لم يترك عملياً أي مجال للثقة».
ولفت إلى أن «الدبلوماسية كانت ولا تزال المبدأ الأساسي في نهج السياسة الخارجية الإيرانية».
المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي، نفى طلب طهران عقد أي لقاء مع مسؤولين من الولايات المتحدة لاستئناف المحادثات النووية، وذلك عقب تصريح للمبعوث الأمريكي إلى الشرق الأوسط ستيف ويتكوف، أفاد فيه بأنه سيلتقي دبلوماسيين إيرانيين الأسبوع القادم.
وأفصح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أمس أن مسؤولين إيرانيين تواصلوا مع الولايات المتحدة لتحديد موعد لمحادثات بشأن البرنامج النووي الإيراني، مشدداً بالقول للصحفيين: «لقد حددنا موعداً لمحادثات مع إيران، وهم يرغبون بذلك... إنهم يريدون التحدث».
يذكر أن المفاوضات الإيرانية ـ الأمريكية انطلقت في شهر أبريل الماضي وتوقفت بعد أن بدأت إسرائيل الحرب على إيران الشهر الماضي، كما استهدفت واشنطن ثلاثة مواقع نووية إيرانية خلال الحرب بين إيران وإسرائيل في مطلع يونيو الماضي.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, announced today (Tuesday) that his country has received messages from the American side in recent days regarding their desire for dialogue.
Khatibzadeh told reporters, "We received messages from the American side in recent days, indicating their desire to return to the negotiating table," adding: "We were in the midst of negotiations when the negotiating table was attacked, and we were also having discussions with the Europeans, but the United States attacked that table," referring to the American targeting of nuclear facilities.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister pointed out that "negotiation requires a minimum level of trust," explaining that "the blatant aggression that occurred has practically left no room for trust."
He noted that "diplomacy has been and remains the fundamental principle in Iran's foreign policy approach."
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, denied Tehran's request to hold any meeting with U.S. officials to resume nuclear talks, following a statement from the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Hanke, indicating that he would meet with Iranian diplomats next week.
U.S. President Donald Trump revealed yesterday that Iranian officials had contacted the United States to set a date for talks regarding the Iranian nuclear program, stressing to reporters: "We have set a date for talks with Iran, and they want that... They want to talk."
It is worth noting that Iranian-American negotiations began last April and stopped after Israel launched a war on Iran last month, and Washington targeted three Iranian nuclear sites during the war between Iran and Israel in early June.
