نجح مشروع مسام السعودي في نزع 1559 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة خلال الأسبوع الماضي من الأراضي اليمنية، وبحسب ما أعلنته غرفة عمليات المشروع اليوم (الأحد) فإن هذه النجاحات تأتي في إطار الجهود المستمرة لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من خطر الألغام.
وأفاد المكتب الإعلامي للمشروع أن الفرق المختصة قامت بنزع 1513 ذخيرة غير منفجرة، و45 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، ولغماً واحداً مضاداً للأفراد، مؤكداً أن ما تم نزعه يُعدّ إنجازاً جديداً في مسار المشروع الإنساني الذي أطلقته المملكة العربية السعودية نهاية يونيو 2018.
وقال التقرير إن الفرق الميدانية استطاعت خلال الفترة نفسها تطهير 176179 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي اليمنية، من الألغام والمتفجرات التي تهدد حياة المدنيين خصوصاً في المناطق المحررة.
وأعلن مدير عام مشروع «مسام» أسامة القصيبي، أن فرق المشروع تمكّنت منذ انطلاقته في نهاية يونيو 2018 وحتى 4 يوليو 2025 من نزع 504294 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة من الأراضي اليمنية، مبيناً أن إجمالي ما تم نزعه يتضمن 342446 ذخيرة غير منفجرة، و8244 عبوة ناسفة، و146784 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و6821 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد.
ولفت إلى أن هذه الجهود تعكس حجم التهديد الذي واجهه اليمنيون جراء زراعة الألغام بشكل عشوائي، لافتاً إلى أن المشروع نجح حتى الآن في تطهير 68147451 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي اليمنية، ما ساهم في إعادة الحياة والأنشطة الزراعية والمدنية إلى العديد من المناطق التي كانت ملوثة بالألغام.
ويُعد مشروع «مسام»، الذي أطلقته المملكة العربية السعودية، من أبرز المبادرات الإنسانية في اليمن، ويعمل على نزع الألغام التي زرعها الحوثيون في مناطق واسعة، مستهدفاً المدنيين والبنى التحتية، كما يمثل المشروع شريان أمل للآلاف من العائلات المتضررة.
وتعهد المشروع بمواصلة جهوده حتى تطهير كامل الأراضي اليمنية المتأثرة بالألغام، في سبيل حماية أرواح المدنيين وتسهيل عودة الحياة الآمنة للمناطق المحررة.
The Saudi project Masam succeeded in removing 1559 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the past week from Yemeni territory. According to what was announced by the project’s operations room today (Sunday), these successes come as part of the ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni lands from the threat of mines.
The project’s media office reported that specialized teams removed 1513 unexploded ordnance, 45 anti-tank mines, and one anti-personnel mine, confirming that what has been removed constitutes a new achievement in the humanitarian project launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the end of June 2018.
The report stated that field teams were able during the same period to clear 176,179 square meters of Yemeni land from mines and explosives that threaten the lives of civilians, especially in liberated areas.
The Director General of the Masam project, Osama Al-Qusaybi, announced that the project teams have managed since its launch at the end of June 2018 until July 4, 2025, to remove 504,294 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices from Yemeni territory, indicating that the total removed includes 342,446 unexploded ordnance, 8,244 explosive devices, 146,784 anti-tank mines, and 6,821 anti-personnel mines.
He pointed out that these efforts reflect the magnitude of the threat faced by Yemenis due to the indiscriminate planting of mines, noting that the project has successfully cleared 68,147,451 square meters of Yemeni land so far, contributing to the restoration of life and agricultural and civil activities in many areas that were contaminated with mines.
The Masam project, launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is one of the most prominent humanitarian initiatives in Yemen, working to remove the mines planted by the Houthis in wide areas, targeting civilians and infrastructure. The project also represents a lifeline of hope for thousands of affected families.
The project has pledged to continue its efforts until all Yemeni territories affected by mines are cleared, in order to protect civilian lives and facilitate the safe return of life to liberated areas.
