فيما تتواصل حرب المسيرات الروسية - الأوكرانية، أعلن مسؤول روسي اليوم (الخميس) مقتل نائب قائد البحرية الروسية في منطقة كورسك الحدودية ميخائيل جودكوف بهجوم أوكراني على كورسك، وفق وكالة تاس.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام روسية وأوكرانية غير رسمية أن جودكوف قُتل مع 10 عسكريين آخرين في هجوم أوكراني على مركز قيادة في بلدة كورينيفو بمنطقة كورسك المتاخمة لأوكرانيا.
وقال حاكم نطقة ليبيتسك الروسية إيغور ارتامونوف إن هناك قتيلا وجريحين في ضربات مسيّرات أوكرانية على المنطقة على بعد نحو 400 كيلومتر جنوب شرقي موسكو، موضحاً أن شظايا مسيّرات سقطت على مبنى سكني خاص في منطقة ليبيتسك ما أدى إلى وفاة امرأة.
بدوره، قالت أجهزة الإسعاف الأوكرانية إن مبنى من تسعة طوابق تضرر إثر هجوم ما أدى إلى اندلاع حريق، موضحاً أنه تم إجلاء نحو 50 شخصا وأصيب أربعة أشخاص.
من جهة أخرى، رحب المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديمتري بيسكوف بقرار أمريكا تعليق تسليم شحنات أسلحة لأوكرانيا تشمل ذخائر وأنظمة دفاع جوي، موضحاً أنه كلما قلت كمية الأسلحة التي تُسلّم إلى أوكرانيا، باتت نهاية العملية العسكرية الخاصة أقرب.
فيما قال مسؤول عسكري أوكراني إن مواجهة روسيا ستكون أصعب في غياب الأسلحة الأمريكية، مضيفاً: نعتمد حاليا بشكل كبير على الأسلحة الأمريكية، وإن كانت أوروبا تقوم بما في وسعها، لكن سيكون صعبا علينا المواجهة من دون الذخائر الأمريكية.
واستدعت وزارة الخارجية الأوكرانية القائم بالأعمال الأمريكي في كييف وأكدت خلال الاجتماع به الأهمية الحاسمة لمواصلة تسليم حزم الدعم الدفاعي المقررة مسبقا، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على تعزيز قدرات الدفاع الجوي الأوكراني، محذرة من أن أي تأخير أو تقليص في دعم القدرات الدفاعية الأوكرانية سيشجع روسيا على مواصلة الحرب بدلا من السلام.
من جهة أخرى، حذر وزير الدفاع الإيطالي، جويدو كروزيتو، من خطورة التهديدات الروسية لأراضي حلف شمال الأطلسي «الناتو»، مؤكداً أن روسيا ربما تمتلك القدرة على تشكيل تهديد عسكري للحلف في غضون 5 سنوات.
وقال كروزيتوفي حديثه أمام أعضاء بالبرلمان حول نتائج قمة الحلف الأطلسي: «عبر أعضاء الحلف عن قلقهم إزاء التهديد الروسي المتزايد، ولا توجد أي مؤشرات على تحول الإنتاج الروسي للأغراض المدنية، حتى في حالة وقف إطلاق النار»، مضيفاً: «الدعم الروسي المحلي للحرب التي شنتها على أوكرانيا في 2022 لا يزال قائماً على ما يبدو».
وأشار إلى أن روسيا خسرت ما يربو على مليون جندي، منهم 200 ألف في الأشهر الستة الأولى من العام الحالي، مبيناً أن «روسيا نجحت في حشد 300 ألف جندي غيرهم خلال ستة أشهر».
As the Russian-Ukrainian drone war continues, a Russian official announced today (Thursday) the death of the deputy commander of the Russian Navy in the border region of Kursk, Mikhail Gudkov, in a Ukrainian attack on Kursk, according to the TASS news agency.
Unverified Russian and Ukrainian media reported that Gudkov was killed along with 10 other military personnel in a Ukrainian attack on a command center in the town of Korenevo in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine.
The governor of the Lipetsk region in Russia, Igor Artamonov, stated that there was one dead and two injured in Ukrainian drone strikes on the region, located about 400 kilometers southeast of Moscow, explaining that drone debris fell on a private residential building in the Lipetsk area, resulting in the death of a woman.
For its part, Ukrainian emergency services reported that a nine-story building was damaged as a result of the attack, leading to a fire, and noted that about 50 people were evacuated and four individuals were injured.
On another note, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov welcomed the U.S. decision to suspend the delivery of arms shipments to Ukraine, which include munitions and air defense systems, explaining that the less weaponry supplied to Ukraine, the closer the end of the special military operation becomes.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian military official stated that facing Russia will be more difficult in the absence of American weapons, adding: "We currently rely heavily on American arms, and while Europe is doing what it can, it will be difficult for us to confront without American munitions."
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned the U.S. chargé d'affaires in Kyiv and emphasized during the meeting the critical importance of continuing the delivery of previously planned defense support packages, particularly focusing on enhancing Ukraine's air defense capabilities, warning that any delay or reduction in support for Ukraine's defensive capabilities would encourage Russia to continue the war instead of pursuing peace.
On another front, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto warned of the seriousness of Russian threats to NATO territory, asserting that Russia may have the capability to pose a military threat to the alliance within five years.
Speaking to members of parliament about the outcomes of the NATO summit, Crosetto said: "NATO members expressed their concerns regarding the increasing Russian threat, and there are no indications of a shift in Russian production for civilian purposes, even in the event of a ceasefire," adding: "Local Russian support for the war it launched against Ukraine in 2022 still appears to be ongoing."
He noted that Russia has lost over a million soldiers, including 200,000 in the first six months of this year, indicating that "Russia has managed to mobilize another 300,000 soldiers within six months."
