كشفت شبكة «سي إن إن» الأمريكية أن جهود التهدئة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران تواجه صعوبات متزايدة، أبرزها اختفاء المرشد الأعلى علي خامنئي عن الأنظار منذ تصاعد التوترات الأخيرة، ووفقاً لشبكة «سي إن إن»، أشارت مصادر إلى أن الوصول إليه بات شبه مستحيل، ولم يُسلِّم أو يتسلَّم أي رسائل دبلوماسية منذ الضربات الأمريكية الأخيرة.
ورغم التصعيد، أكدت الشبكة أن الاتصالات بين الجانبين لا تزال مستمرة عبر قنوات خلفية، وذكرت أن مبعوث الرئيس الأمريكي للشرق الأوسط، ستيف ويتكوف، حافظ على تواصله مع مسؤولين إيرانيين خلال الفترة الماضية، في محاولة لدفع مسار تفاوضي غير مباشر.
كما نقلت واشنطن إلى طهران رسالة تهدئة قبيل تنفيذ الضربات الجوية، في مسعى لاحتواء التصعيد ومنع انزلاق الوضع نحو مواجهة أوسع، فيما يراهن ترمب على إمكانية استئناف المفاوضات رغم التعقيدات الميدانية والسياسية.
The American network "CNN" revealed that efforts to de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran are facing increasing difficulties, the most notable of which is the disappearance of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from public view since the recent rise in tensions. According to "CNN," sources indicated that access to him has become nearly impossible, and he has not received or sent any diplomatic messages since the recent American strikes.
Despite the escalation, the network confirmed that communications between the two sides are still ongoing through back channels. It noted that the U.S. President's envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittekov, has maintained contact with Iranian officials in recent times, in an attempt to push for an indirect negotiation process.
Washington also conveyed a message of de-escalation to Tehran prior to the execution of airstrikes, in an effort to contain the escalation and prevent the situation from slipping into a broader confrontation, while Trump bets on the possibility of resuming negotiations despite the field and political complexities.
