أعلن الاتحاد الأوروبي اليوم (الثلاثاء) أن أصوله البحرية في المنطقة نفذت عمليتَي حماية للسفن التجارية وتأمين مرورها في البحر الأحمر، غربي اليمن، خلال الـ48 ساعة الماضية، مؤكداً أن قواته تتمتع بمهمة دفاعية كاملة.
وأوضحت مهمة «أسبيدس» البحرية التابعة للاتحاد الأوروبي في تدوينة على «إكس» اليوم، أن الفرقاطة اليونانية (HS PSARA) أنجزت مهمة حماية وثيقة وناجحة لسفينة تجارية في منطقة العمليات، مبينة أن هذه العملية هي الثانية خلال الـ48 ساعة الماضية.
وأشارت إلى أن الفرقاطة الإيطالية (ANDREA DORIA) كانت قد نفذت «بنجاح» مهمة مماثلة، الأحد الماضي، مؤكدة أن عدد عمليات حماية السفن التجارية التي نفذتها القوة البحرية الأوروبية منذ مطلع يونيو الجاري ارتفعت إلى 4 عمليات، اثنتان منها للفرقاطة اليونانية «بسارا»، واثنتان أخريان للفرقاطة الإيطالية «أندريا دوريا».
وذكرت أن قوة الاتحاد الأوروبي البحرية تتمتع بمهمة دفاعية كاملة، وتساهم في الاستقرار والازدهار الإقليمي من خلال توفير السلامة للبحارة وحماية السلع المشتركة العالمية.
ويأتي هذا البيان في الوقت الذي تشهد المنطقة تصعيداً خطيراً بين إيران وإسرائيل منذ يوم الجمعة الماضي، نفذت خلاله تل أبيب عدواناً على طهران وقتلت أكثر من 20 قيادياً وعدداً من علماء الذرّة ودمرت مواقع عسكرية واستهدفت منشآت للبرنامج النووي.
The European Union announced today (Tuesday) that its naval assets in the region have carried out two operations to protect commercial vessels and ensure their passage in the Red Sea, west of Yemen, over the past 48 hours, confirming that its forces are on a complete defensive mission.
The EU's maritime mission "EUNAVFOR MED" stated in a post on "X" today that the Greek frigate (HS PSARA) successfully completed a close protection mission for a commercial vessel in the area of operations, noting that this operation is the second in the past 48 hours.
It pointed out that the Italian frigate (ANDREA DORIA) had successfully carried out a similar mission last Sunday, confirming that the number of protection operations for commercial vessels conducted by the European naval force since the beginning of June has risen to four operations, two of which were by the Greek frigate "PSARA," and two others by the Italian frigate "ANDREA DORIA."
It mentioned that the European Union naval force enjoys a complete defensive mission and contributes to regional stability and prosperity by providing safety for sailors and protecting global common goods.
This statement comes at a time when the region is witnessing a serious escalation between Iran and Israel since last Friday, during which Tel Aviv carried out aggression against Tehran, killing more than 20 leaders and several nuclear scientists, destroying military sites, and targeting facilities related to the nuclear program.
