أعلن الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون الخليجي جاسم البديوي اليوم (الأحد)، أن المجلس الوزاري سيعقد اجتماعاً استثنائياً غداً (الإثنين) عبر الاتصال المرئي، لمناقشة تطورات الأوضاع في المنطقة.
وأوضح البديوي في بيان على الموقع الإلكتروني للمجلس اليوم أن المجلس الوزاري لمجلس التعاون، سيعقد اجتماعه الاستثنائي الـ48 غداً عبر الاتصال المرئي، برئاسة وزير خارجية دولة الكويت -رئيس الدورة الحالية للمجلس الوزاري- عبدالله اليحيا، وبمشاركة وزراء خارجية دول مجلس التعاون.
وقال البديوي إن المجلس الوزاري لمجلس التعاون سيبحث خلال انعقاده آخر التطورات الإقليمية والدولية التي تشهدها المنطقة، لاسيما الاعتداءات العسكرية الإسرائيلية على إيران.
وكان الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، قد أعرب عن إدانة واستنكار مجلس التعاون للاعتداءات الإسرائيلية تجاه على إيران التي تمثل انتهاكاً صريحاً للقانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة.
وطالب البديوي المجتمع الدولي ومجلس الأمن بتحمّل مسؤولياته نحو الوقف الفوري لهذا العدوان، وتجنّب التصعيد الذي قد يشعل فتيل صراع أوسع، ستكون له عواقب وخيمة على السلم الإقليمي والدولي.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, announced today (Sunday) that the ministerial council will hold an extraordinary meeting tomorrow (Monday) via video conference to discuss the developments in the region.
Al-Budaiwi clarified in a statement on the council's website today that the ministerial council of the Gulf Cooperation Council will hold its 48th extraordinary meeting tomorrow via video conference, chaired by the Foreign Minister of Kuwait - the current president of the ministerial council - Abdullah Al-Yahya, with the participation of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Al-Budaiwi stated that the ministerial council will discuss the latest regional and international developments occurring in the region, particularly the Israeli military attacks on Iran.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council had expressed the council's condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli attacks on Iran, which represent a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Al-Budaiwi called on the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities towards the immediate cessation of this aggression and to avoid escalation that could ignite a broader conflict, which would have dire consequences for regional and international peace.
