اعتبرت صحيفة «جيروزاليم بوست» الإسرائيلية أن تل أبيب نفذت «خدعة إعلامية» محكمة للتمويه على إيران قبيل الضربة العسكرية التي نفذتها داخل أراضيها. وكشفت الصحيفة بعض تفاصيل الخدعة التي استهدفت تعزيز عنصر المفاجأة وتأخير رد الفعل الإيراني. ووفق الصحيفة، فإنه في ليلة خيم عليها الهدوء المصطنع، وبينما كان العالم يترقب جولة مفاوضات نووية، وتناقل وسائل الإعلام أخباراً عن عطلة رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو، وحفل زفاف نجله، كانت إسرائيل تضع اللمسات الأخيرة على واحدة من أكثر عملياتها سرية وخداعاً.
وأضافت أن قرار ضرب العمق الإيراني اتخذ خلف أبواب مغلقة، وفي أروقة مجلس الأمن الإسرائيلي. ونقلت عن مصادر قولها: إن إسرائيل وصفت اجتماع مجلس الأمن القومي عمداً بأنه مناقشة حول مفاوضات الرهائن من أجل تهدئة طهران وإعطاء الضوء الأخضر للضربة، وبمجرد الدخول إلى الاجتماع وافقت الحكومة بالإجماع على العملية العسكرية.
