Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized that the time has come to build the state, restore sovereignty, and ensure security and stability across all Lebanese territory.
Salam stated in a speech at the conference "Rebuilding Lebanon: Investment Framework and Business Opportunities," which was held today (Tuesday): "We are working to regain control of all entry and exit points from Lebanon, especially Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, and we will work to open Qleiat Airport." He pointed out that Israeli attacks have destroyed infrastructure and affected the lives of Lebanese people, and the people have stood firm and determined, just as companies and institutions have persisted despite the collapse.
Salam revealed the disarmament of more than 500 warehouses in the south and the enhancement of security at Beirut Airport, noting that diplomatic channels are being utilized to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon and to withdraw from the five points it still occupies.
He affirmed that restoring the sovereignty of the state is essential for building trust with the international community and encouraging investors to return to Lebanon, considering that an independent judiciary is the cornerstone for our country to become a center for international arbitration and to redefine its role in resolving disputes.
The Prime Minister of Lebanon said: "We have made real progress in restoring the rights of depositors and have introduced transparent criteria in appointments. We are in the process of revitalizing Lebanon's heritage and reviving the national library," noting that the Kamil Shamon City has been inaugurated, believing that sports are essential. "We are entering a new phase of governance relying on artificial intelligence, and we are in the process of establishing a new ministry for artificial intelligence and modern technology."
Salam reported that Lebanon is working with the international community to ensure the safe return of Syrian refugees and to establish a fair law to achieve justice for depositors and restore trust in the banking system.
