قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إن واشنطن لن تسمح لإيران بتخصيب اليورانيوم بأي شكل من الأشكال.
وكتب ترمب عبر منصة «تروث سوشال»: «بموجب اتفاقنا المحتمل مع طهران؛ لن نسمح بأي شكل من أشكال تخصيب اليورانيوم»، مضيفاً: «كان يجب منع إيران من تخصيب اليورانيوم منذ وقت طويل».
وتابع الرئيس الأمريكي في منشور آخر: «نعمل على تخزين الأسلحة بشكل غير مسبوق ونأمل ألا نُضطر لاستخدامها».
يأتى ذلك بعدما أفادت مصادر أمريكية مطلعة أن مقترح الاتفاق النووي الذي قدمته الولايات المتحدة لإيران، سيسمح لطهران بقدرة محدودة على تخصيب اليورانيوم على مستوى منخفض لفترة من الزمن، وفق ما ذكره موقع «أكسيوس» الإخباري (الإثنين).
وقالت المصادر إن الاقتراح الأمريكي المقدم لإيران يسمح لها بمواصلة تخصيب اليورانيوم حتى نسبة 3%.
ولا يشمل المقترح الأمريكي تفكيك كل المنشآت النووية الإيرانية.
وبموجب الاقتراح، لن تُرفع العقوبات إلا بعد أن تظهر إيران «التزاماً حقيقياً»، وبعد أن تصادق الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية (IAEA) على ذلك.
كما لن يُسمح لإيران بإنشاء منشآت تخصيب جديدة، وسيُطلب منها تفكيك البنى التحتية الحيوية الخاصة بتحويل ومعالجة اليورانيوم.
أيضاً سيُطلب من إيران وقف البحث والتطوير المتعلق بأجهزة الطرد المركزي الجديدة.
U.S. President Donald Trump said today (Tuesday) that Washington will not allow Iran to enrich uranium in any form.
Trump wrote on the platform "Truth Social": "Under our potential agreement with Tehran; we will not allow any form of uranium enrichment," adding: "Iran should have been prevented from enriching uranium a long time ago."
The U.S. president continued in another post: "We are stockpiling weapons at an unprecedented rate and hope we do not have to use them."
This comes after informed U.S. sources reported that the proposed nuclear agreement presented by the United States to Iran would allow Tehran a limited capacity to enrich uranium at a low level for a period of time, according to what the news site "Axios" mentioned (on Monday).
The sources stated that the U.S. proposal presented to Iran allows it to continue enriching uranium up to 3%.
The U.S. proposal does not include dismantling all Iranian nuclear facilities.
Under the proposal, sanctions will only be lifted after Iran demonstrates "a genuine commitment," and after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verifies that.
Iran will also not be allowed to create new enrichment facilities, and it will be required to dismantle critical infrastructure related to uranium conversion and processing.
Additionally, Iran will be required to halt research and development related to new centrifuge devices.
