في أول تعلّيق له، أقر الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، اليوم (الإثنين)، بصحة الفيديو الذي يظهره وهو يتلقى صفعة على وجهه من زوجته بريجيت عند وصولهما إلى فيتنام، مؤكداً للصحفيين أنه كان جدالاً ومزاح.
وقال الرئيس الفرنسي، في تصريحه لصحفيين: «كنا نتجادل، ونمزح، نحن نتشاجر ونمزح، ونفاجأ برؤية الأمر يتحول إلى كارثة عالمية»، نافياً وجود أي نزاع عائلي.
وأضاف: إنه أمرٌ جنوني بعض الشيء، على الناس أن تهدأ، مؤكداً إن الفيديو صحيح، ولكن يتم إعدادها لتقول الكثير من الهراء.
ولفت إلى أنه يرى «الكثير من المجانين يقضون أيامهم في شرح الأمور»، موضحاً في رده على سؤال حول هوية الأشخاص الذين يروجون لمثل هذه القصص، بالقول: إنهم «دائماً نفس الشبكات التي يتم تعقبها».
وشدد ماكرون بالقول: «الروس حلفاء جيدون، والمتطرفون وكلاء، وهناك أيضا محررون ومعلقون سياسيون معادون لي، إنهم مجانين، لدينا الكثير من المجانين في النظام».
وكان مقطع فيديو قد أظهر تلقي ماكرون صفعة قوية على وجهه أمام الملأ عقب وصوله إلى فيتنام وأثناء خروجه من الطائرة، مما أثار ضجة كبيرة في فرنسا ورافقت ماكرون في جولته شرق أسيا التي ستستمر 6 أيام زوجته بريجيت، وبحسب موقع «بي إف إم تي في» الفرنسي فإن مقطع فيديو الرئيس الفرنسي وزوجته بريجيت أثار موجة كبيرة من التعليقات بعد وصولهما إلى فيتنام.
وفسر مشهد الصفعة بطرق مختلفة وقد بدت على ماكرون بعض الدهشة للحظات، قبل أن يستعيد توزانه البروتوكولي ويغادر الطائرة.
وخلال هبوطهما على متن سلم الطائرة، حاول ماكرون الإمساك بذراع زوجته، لكنها رفضت وابتعدت.
ورغم أن البعض شكك في صحة الفيديو خصوصاً المقربين من الإليزية في بداية الأمر، لكن صحته تأكدت في وقت لاحق، مما أدى إلى تصاعد التفاعل.
وعلّق الإليزيه بالقول إن ما حدث كان لحظة ودية ومجرد شجار بين الزوجين، مشدداً على أن الحادثة لا تحمل أي دلالة سلبية.

The French president stated in his remarks to reporters: "We were arguing, joking, we fight and joke, and we are surprised to see it turn into a global disaster," denying any family dispute.
He added: "It's a bit crazy, people need to calm down," affirming that the video is real, but it is being prepared to say a lot of nonsense.
He pointed out that he sees "a lot of crazy people spending their days explaining things," clarifying in response to a question about the identity of those promoting such stories, saying: "They are always the same networks that are being tracked."
Macron emphasized by saying: "The Russians are good allies, and the extremists are agents, and there are also editors and political commentators who are hostile to me, they are crazy, we have a lot of crazy people in the system."
A video clip showed Macron receiving a strong slap on his face in public after arriving in Vietnam and while exiting the plane, which caused a huge uproar in France. His wife Brigitte accompanied Macron on his six-day tour of East Asia, and according to the French site "BFM TV," the video of the French president and his wife Brigitte sparked a wave of comments after their arrival in Vietnam.
The slap scene was interpreted in various ways, and Macron appeared somewhat surprised for a moment before regaining his composure and leaving the plane.
As they descended the plane's steps, Macron tried to hold his wife's arm, but she refused and moved away.
Although some initially doubted the authenticity of the video, especially those close to the Élysée, its authenticity was confirmed later, leading to increased interaction.
The Élysée commented that what happened was a friendly moment and just a quarrel between the couple, emphasizing that the incident carries no negative connotation.
