قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، فجر اليوم الاثنين، إنه يعتقد أن الولايات المتحدة لديها أخبار سارة قادمة مع حركة حماس بشأن غزة.
وأضاف: «تحدثنا مع إسرائيل ونريد أن نرى ما إذا كان بوسعنا وقف هذا الوضع بأكمله في أقرب وقت ممكن».
وذكرت مصادر في إدارة ترمب أن الأخير يضغط على حكومة نتنياهو لوقف الحرب، وأن الرئيس الأمريكي ساخط على استمرار الحرب.
وتقول المصادر إن الإدارة الأمريكية فتحت قناة اتصال مع حماس عبر رجل الأعمال الأمريكي الفلسطيني بشارة بحبح.
وأضافت أن الأطراف المعنية تستعد لاستئناف المفاوضات غير المباشرة بين إسرائيل وحركة حماس بشأن صفقة لتبادل الأسرى ووقف إطلاق النار، في إطار مبادرة تقودها الولايات المتحدة عبر مبعوثها الخاص ستيف ويتكوف.
ووفق مصادر دبلوماسية مطلعة، طُلب من إسرائيل تأجيل تصعيدها الميداني، والسماح بتوسيع نطاق إيصال المساعدات الإنسانية، بهدف تهيئة الأجواء لعودة المفاوضات، لكن ما تزال إسرائيل ترتكب جرائم في غزة بشكل يومي.
وبحسب تقارير إعلامية، من المتوقع أن يصل وفد إسرائيلي إلى القاهرة، الإثنين، لبحث استئناف المحادثات، في حين لم تؤكد إسرائيل رسميا هذه الخطوة حتى الآن.
خطة ويتكوف
ويسعى الأمريكيون إلى التوصل لاتفاق شامل ومتدرج، يبدأ بإطلاق سراح جزء من الأسرى، ويشمل في مراحله اللاحقة إنهاء الحرب وإطلاق سراح جميع الأسرى لدى حماس، وذلك من خلال «خطة ويتكوف».
وقالت مصادر لصحيفة «إسرائيل اليوم» إن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي ترفض التخلي عن المسار الدبلوماسي، وتعتبره ضروريا لتحقيق تسوية مستدامة في غزة، قبل الدخول في أجواء الانتخابات الرئاسية الأمريكية.
ووفقا للمصادر، فإن واشنطن ترى أن إضعاف البنية العسكرية لحماس والضغوط المتزايدة التي تتعرض لها، قد تفتح نافذة سياسية نادرة لدفع الحركة نحو تنازلات غير مسبوقة.
في المقابل، لا تزال حماس ترفض الشروط الإسرائيلية المعلنة لإنهاء الحرب، والتي أكدها رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو، وتشمل إطلاق سراح جميع الرهائن، أحياء وأمواتا وتسليم حماس لجميع أسلحتها، ومغادرة قادة الحركة قطاع غزة، وإنهاء أي دور لحماس في حكم القطاع مستقبلا.
U.S. President Donald Trump said early this Monday morning that he believes the United States has good news coming with Hamas regarding Gaza.
He added, "We talked to Israel and we want to see if we can stop this whole situation as soon as possible."
Sources in the Trump administration mentioned that the president is pressuring Netanyahu's government to stop the war, and that he is outraged by the continuation of the conflict.
The sources say that the U.S. administration has opened a communication channel with Hamas through Palestinian-American businessman Bashar Bahbah.
They added that the concerned parties are preparing to resume indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas regarding a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire, as part of a U.S.-led initiative through its special envoy Steve Witkoff.
According to informed diplomatic sources, Israel has been asked to delay its field escalation and allow for an expansion of humanitarian aid delivery, in order to create an atmosphere conducive to the resumption of negotiations, but Israel continues to commit crimes in Gaza on a daily basis.
According to media reports, an Israeli delegation is expected to arrive in Cairo on Monday to discuss the resumption of talks, although Israel has not officially confirmed this step yet.
Witkoff's Plan
The Americans are seeking to reach a comprehensive and gradual agreement, starting with the release of a portion of the prisoners, and including in its later stages the end of the war and the release of all prisoners held by Hamas, through the "Witkoff Plan."
Sources told the newspaper "Israel Hayom" that the U.S. administration refuses to abandon the diplomatic track, considering it essential for achieving a sustainable settlement in Gaza before entering the atmosphere of the U.S. presidential elections.
According to the sources, Washington believes that weakening Hamas's military structure and the increasing pressures it faces may open a rare political window to push the movement towards unprecedented concessions.
In contrast, Hamas still rejects the announced Israeli conditions for ending the war, which were confirmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and include the release of all hostages, dead or alive, the surrender of all weapons by Hamas, the departure of the movement's leaders from the Gaza Strip, and the end of any role for Hamas in governing the territory in the future.
