ضبط مستودع أسلحة وذخائر شرق سورية

The internal security forces in Syria managed to seize a warehouse containing large quantities of weapons and ammunition, belonging to remnants of the ousted president Bashar al-Assad's regime, in the city of Mohsen in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria.

Deir ez-Zor province reported in a post on its Facebook page today, Sunday, that the internal security forces in the province were able to seize a warehouse containing massive amounts of ammunition and weapons in one of the abandoned houses in the city of Mohsen.

It considered that this comes as part of the security campaign launched by the internal security leadership to pursue the remnants of the ousted regime and the militias loyal to it in the province.

The internal security forces launched a wide-ranging security operation against drug and weapon traffickers on the Syrian-Iraqi border. This resulted in the arrest of several elements of the Assad regime involved in smuggling activities, and the seizure of quantities of narcotic materials and weapons, including dozens of anti-tank missiles that were prepared for smuggling into Iraqi territory.

On another note, an Israeli military convoy was stationed today on the road connecting the town of Al-Hamidiyah and the governorate building in the city of Quneitra in southern Syria.

Syria TV announced that the convoy consists of 14 military vehicles, including 3 Merkava tanks, and noted that Israeli forces have reinforced their presence in the area without knowing the direct reasons for these movements.

It mentioned the release of two young men who were arrested on Saturday in the central Quneitra countryside during a sudden incursion into the area by Israeli forces.

The southern region of Syria is witnessing Israeli incursions into the buffer zone, while the occupying forces continue to expand their military presence in Quneitra province. Israeli forces had intruded into border areas last year.
