فيما تبادلت روسيا وأوكرانيا 307 من العسكريين من كل جانب والتي قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب عنها بأنها عملية من المقرر أن تشهد إطلاق سراح 1000 أسير من كل جانب على مدى 3 أيام، وستمهد لمرحلة جديدة في جهود التفاوض على اتفاق سلام بين موسكو وكييف، دعا الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي اليوم (السبت) إلى فرض عقوبات دولية إضافية على روسيا لإجبارها على القبول بوقف لإطلاق النار.
وكتب زيلينسكي عقب إصابة 15 شخصاً في هجوم روسي ليلي بواسطة مسيرات وصواريخ على العاصمة كييف على حسابه في «إكس»: مع كل هجوم من هذا القبيل، يقتنع العالم بأن موسكو هي سبب إطالة أمد الحرب، مضيفاً: لن تضطر موسكو للموافقة على وقف إطلاق النار إلا بفرض عقوبات إضافية على قطاعات رئيسية من الاقتصاد الروسي.
وأشار إلى أن الهجوم الهائل الذي شنته روسيا بطائرات مسيرة وصواريخ باليستية على أوكرانيا يعد دليلاً جديداً على أن موسكو تعرقل التوصل لاتفاق لوقف إطلاق النار.
من جانبه، أكد وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف التزام بلاده بالحل السلمي للأزمة والتفاهمات التي تم التوصل إليها خلال مفاوضات إسطنبول مع الجانب الأوكراني، متهماً الجيش الأوكراني بتنفيذ هجمات بطائرات مسيرة ضد أهداف مدنية في الأراضي الروسية خلال الفترة بين 20 و23 مايو الجاري.
وأشار إلى إن هذه الهجمات جرت بدعم من بعض الدول الأوروبية، وعلى رأسها بريطانيا وفرنسا وألمانيا، وأنها أسفرت عن سقوط قتلى وجرحى، مشدداً بالقول: «نحن على يقين من أن هذه الدول لها نصيب أيضاً في الجرائم المرتكبة، وسنعمل على وضع حد لهذه السياسة».
واعتبر لافروف الهجمات بأنها محاولة واضحة لتقويض عملية التفاوض التي بدأت في إسطنبول، تماشياً مع التفاهمات بين الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين ونظيره الأمريكي دونالد ترمب.
وكان لافروف قد قال أمس إن بلاده مستعدة لتسليم أوكرانيا مسودة وثيقة تحدد شروط اتفاق سلام طويل الأجل بمجرد الانتهاء من عملية تبادل الأسرى الحالية.
As Russia and Ukraine exchanged 307 military personnel from each side, which U.S. President Donald Trump described as a process set to witness the release of 1,000 prisoners from each side over three days, paving the way for a new phase in the negotiation efforts for a peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called today (Saturday) for additional international sanctions on Russia to force it to accept a ceasefire.
Zelensky wrote after 15 people were injured in a nighttime Russian attack using drones and missiles on the capital Kyiv on his account on "X": With every such attack, the world becomes convinced that Moscow is the reason for prolonging the war, adding: Moscow will only be compelled to agree to a ceasefire by imposing additional sanctions on key sectors of the Russian economy.
He pointed out that the massive attack launched by Russia using drones and ballistic missiles on Ukraine is new evidence that Moscow is obstructing the reaching of a ceasefire agreement.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed his country's commitment to a peaceful resolution of the crisis and the understandings reached during the Istanbul negotiations with the Ukrainian side, accusing the Ukrainian army of carrying out drone attacks against civilian targets in Russian territory between May 20 and 23.
He noted that these attacks were conducted with the support of some European countries, led by Britain, France, and Germany, and resulted in casualties and injuries, emphasizing: "We are convinced that these countries also share in the crimes committed, and we will work to put an end to this policy."
Lavrov considered the attacks to be a clear attempt to undermine the negotiation process that began in Istanbul, in line with the understandings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump.
Lavrov had stated yesterday that his country is ready to hand over to Ukraine a draft document outlining the terms of a long-term peace agreement as soon as the current prisoner exchange process is completed.
