As the genocide war in Gaza continues and expands alongside negotiations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that the army is on its way to control all areas of the devastated strip.
In a video posted on his Telegram account today (Monday), he stated that Israeli forces, after expanding the operation, are on their way to control all areas of the besieged sector.
He refused to delve into the details of the Khan Younis operation and the entry of an Israeli special force to carry out a mission to extract Israeli hostages, merely stating that the army is doing its job. However, sources confirmed that "no Israeli hostages were released in the operation."
For his part, an Israeli source reported that the operation aimed to capture a leader in the Al-Qassam Brigades (the armed wing of Hamas) and to extract hostages.
Netanyahu considered it essential to avoid reaching a state of famine in Gaza so that Israel does not lose support, and for diplomatic reasons as well, according to him. He explained that "Israel's friends" informed him that they could no longer support the continuation of the war if images of mass famine were broadcast in the Palestinian territories. He emphasized the need to "prevent Hamas from looting aid," as he put it.
For its part, a spokesperson for the Israeli army announced that Israeli forces are carrying out "Operation Gideon’s Chariots" throughout Gaza, without mentioning the Khan Younis operation.
It is worth noting that the occupation army announced yesterday that its ground forces had begun operations in multiple areas in northern and southern Gaza, as part of "Operation Gideon’s Chariots." Israeli military officials reported that 5 infantry and armored divisions are participating in the operation, which includes the complete reoccupation of parts of the Palestinian sector and leveling it to the ground.
Netanyahu announced yesterday (Sunday) the start of a strong military battle in Gaza, adding that Israeli forces have entered the Palestinian sector. He said in a video posted on his account on "X": "We are entering Gaza with force to achieve the objectives of the war."
Israel seeks to escalate military pressure on Hamas in the besieged sector to push it to make further concessions at the negotiating table, while the movement insists on the condition of a complete commitment to end the war and allow the entry of aid, in exchange for the release of all Israeli prisoners.
