مفاوضات في الدوحة.. إيطاليا تطالب إسرائيل بوقف هجماتها في غزة

After the Israeli occupation army announced the mobilization of its forces to expand operations in the sector, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani today (Saturday) called on Israel to stop its military attack on Gaza.

Tajani stated in a statement: "Palestinian civilians should no longer pay the price of war," adding: "We must tell the Israeli government: enough... We no longer want to see the Palestinian people suffering, stop the attacks, let us work towards a ceasefire, and let this people live in peace."

The government media office in the Gaza Strip had confirmed earlier today that the number of food distribution centers and kitchens targeted by the Israeli occupation had risen to 68 centers and kitchens, indicating that the occupation is following a systematic policy to starve civilians in the Gaza Strip.

It pointed out that this systematic targeting has led to the deaths of hundreds of citizens while trying to obtain food aid.

On the other hand, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said: "Our aid for Gaza is piled up outside, food will spoil, and medicines will expire," noting that the clock is ticking towards famine and the people of Gaza are dying.

He emphasized: "Lift the siege, open the gates, and let us do our work," adding: "Do not reinvent the wheel; creating new plans distracts attention from the atrocities and wastes resources."

In contrast, Hamas stated that a new round of indirect and unconditional negotiations between the movement and Israel has officially begun today in the Qatari capital, Doha.

For its part, the Israeli families of prisoners' committee in Gaza demanded Netanyahu and the negotiating delegation in Doha to end the war and return their sons, indicating that only deals will save the lives of the hostages.

The committee accused the Israeli Prime Minister of leading a war for political considerations, describing it as an eternal war aimed at establishing settlements in Gaza, stressing: "Netanyahu serves a radical minority, and the continuation of the war will kill the remaining hostages."

The committee called on U.S. President Donald Trump to put an end to Netanyahu and Hamas's war, especially since military pressure will not return the captives but will kill them.

The statement added: "We must end the war in Gaza as we did in Lebanon; without the return of the prisoners, we will not stand up."
