أعلنت قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان (اليونيفيل) أن إحدى دورياتها تعرضت لهجوم أثناء تنفيذ مهمة روتينية بين قريتي الجميجمة وخربة سلم في جنوب لبنان.
وأفاد المتحدث باسم اليونيفيل اندريا تيننتي، اليوم(الجمعة)، بأن مجموعة كبيرة من الأفراد بلباس مدني واجهت الدورية، محاولين إيقافها باستخدام وسائل عنيفة، بما في ذلك العصي المعدنية والفؤوس، ما أدى إلى إلحاق أضرار بآليات الدورية، إلا أنه لم تُسجل أي إصابات بين أفراد القوة.
وأضاف أن قوات حفظ السلام استخدمت وسائل غير فتاكة لضمان سلامتها وسلامة جميع المتواجدين في المكان، وتم إبلاغ الجيش اللبناني، الذي حضر إلى موقع الحادثة وتولى مرافقة الدورية إلى قاعدتها.
وأكد المتحدث أن هذه الدورية كانت مخططة مسبقاً ومنسقة مع القوات المسلحة اللبنانية، مشدداً على أن حرية حركة اليونيفيل ضمن منطقة عملياتها في جنوب لبنان تُعد عنصراً أساسياً في تنفيذ ولايتها، وأي تقييد لهذه الحرية يُعد انتهاكًا للقرار 1701 الصادر عن مجلس الأمن، الذي يخول اليونيفيل العمل بشكل مستقل، سواء بوجود القوات المسلحة اللبنانية أو بدونها.
ولفت إلى أن استهداف حفظة السلام أثناء تنفيذهم لمهماتهم الموكلة من مجلس الأمن أمر غير مقبول، داعيًا السلطات اللبنانية إلى ضمان قدرة قوات اليونيفيل على تنفيذ مهماتها دون تهديد أو عرقلة.
من جانبهم، قال أهالي بلدة الجميجمة إن قوات اليونيفيل دخلت إلى حرم البلدة دون مؤازرة الجيش اللبناني، ما دفع الأهالي إلى تفقد الأملاك ومطالبة القوة بالتراجع وعدم التمادي داخل الأراضي، إلا أن قوات اليونيفيل بدأت بالتشاجر مع الأهالي، وأطلقت القنابل المسيلة للدموع والرصاص، مما أدى إلى تسجيل عدة إصابات بين المواطنين.
يذكر أن منطقة جنوب لبنان تشهد توترات متزايدة، وتعرضت قوات اليونيفيل لعدة حوادث في الآونة الأخيرة، إذ أصيب أربعة من جنود حفظ السلام الغانيين بصاروخ أثناء تأديتهم لمهماتهم في قاعدة شرقي بلدة رامية، وتعرض مقر القطاع الغربي لقوات اليونيفيل في شمع لهجمات صاروخية أصابت ورشة الصيانة، دون تسجيل إصابات بشرية.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that one of its patrols was attacked while carrying out a routine mission between the villages of Al-Jmeijmeh and Kherbet Selim in southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti reported today (Friday) that a large group of individuals in civilian clothing confronted the patrol, attempting to stop it using violent means, including metal rods and axes, which caused damage to the patrol vehicles; however, no injuries were recorded among the force members.
He added that the peacekeeping forces used non-lethal means to ensure their safety and the safety of everyone present at the location, and the Lebanese Army was informed, which arrived at the scene of the incident and escorted the patrol back to its base.
The spokesperson confirmed that this patrol was pre-planned and coordinated with the Lebanese Armed Forces, emphasizing that the freedom of movement of UNIFIL within its area of operations in southern Lebanon is a fundamental element in carrying out its mandate, and any restriction of this freedom is considered a violation of Security Council Resolution 1701, which authorizes UNIFIL to operate independently, whether with or without the presence of the Lebanese Armed Forces.
He pointed out that targeting peacekeepers while they are carrying out their missions assigned by the Security Council is unacceptable, calling on the Lebanese authorities to ensure that UNIFIL forces can carry out their missions without threat or obstruction.
For their part, the residents of the village of Al-Jmeijmeh stated that UNIFIL forces entered the village premises without the support of the Lebanese Army, prompting the residents to check their properties and demand that the force withdraw and not encroach further into the territory; however, UNIFIL forces began to clash with the residents and fired tear gas and bullets, resulting in several injuries among the citizens.
It is noteworthy that the southern Lebanon region is experiencing increasing tensions, and UNIFIL forces have faced several incidents recently, with four Ghanaian peacekeepers injured by a rocket while performing their duties at a base east of the town of Ramieh, and the western sector headquarters of UNIFIL in Shama was subjected to rocket attacks that hit a maintenance workshop, without recording any human injuries.
