أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن بالغ قلق المملكة العربية السعودية واستنكارها للانتهاكات الإنسانية الجسيمة التي جرت خلال الهجمات الأخيرة لقوات الدعم السريع على مدينة الفاشر.
وشددت المملكة على ضرورة قيام قوات الدعم السريع بواجبها في حماية المدنيين، وضمان تأمين وصول المساعدات الإنسانية، والالتزام بالقانون الدولي الإنساني وفق ما ورد في إعلان جدة (الالتزام بحماية المدنيين في السودان) الموقع بتاريخ 11 مايو 2023م.
ودعت المملكة إلى العودة للحوار للتوصل بشكل فوري إلى وقف لإطلاق النار، مؤكدة أهمية وحدة السودان وأمنه واستقراره، وضرورة الحفاظ على مؤسساته الشرعية، ورفضها التدخلات الخارجية التي تطيل أمد الصراع، وتزيد معاناة شعب السودان الشقيق.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's deep concern and condemnation of the grave humanitarian violations that occurred during the recent attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on the city of El Fasher.
The Kingdom emphasized the necessity for the Rapid Support Forces to fulfill their duty in protecting civilians, ensuring the secure delivery of humanitarian aid, and adhering to international humanitarian law as stated in the Jeddah Declaration (commitment to protecting civilians in Sudan) signed on May 11, 2023.
The Kingdom called for a return to dialogue to immediately reach a ceasefire, reaffirming the importance of Sudan's unity, security, and stability, and the necessity of preserving its legitimate institutions, while rejecting external interventions that prolong the conflict and increase the suffering of the brotherly people of Sudan.
