أغلقت إدارة مرور العاصمة المقدسة، بالتعاون مع أمانة العاصمة المقدسة «الجمعة»، جسر الشرائع الشامل باتجاه الطريق المؤدي إلى محافظة الطائف - السيل، وتحويل الحركة المرورية يميناً على الطريق المحاذي للجسر وإغلاق التقاطع أسفل الجسر، وذلك لتنفيذ أعمال الصيانة والمعالجة. وأبدى عدد من أهالي وسكان الشرائع لـ«عكاظ»، مخاوفهم من تكرار سيناريو إغلاق جسر الجعرانة الذي أغلق قبل أكثر من عام بسبب أعمال الصيانة ولا يزال على وضعه دون وجود أية بوادر لبدء أعمال الصيانة.
وقال عبدالله المولد وحسن فلاتة وإبراهيم العلي: إن جسر الشامل يعد من المحاور الرئيسية في شرق مكة المكرمة، ويشهد كثافة مرورية كبيرة طوال ساعات الليل والنهار، مشيرين إلى أنه كان بالإمكان إغلاق مسارين للطريق وإبقاء مسارين لاستمرار الحركة المرورية وعمل الصيانة اللازمة على مراحل بالتناوب بين المسارات، لافتين إلى أن إغلاق التقاطعات أسفل الجسر يتسبب في حدوث اختناقات مرورية، خصوصاً في أوقات الدوام المدرسي والضغط على المحاور الأخرى.
The traffic department of the Holy Capital, in collaboration with the Holy Capital Municipality, closed the Al-Sharae Bridge heading towards the road leading to the Taif - Al-Sail area on Friday, redirecting traffic to the right onto the road adjacent to the bridge and closing the intersection beneath the bridge, in order to carry out maintenance and repair work. Several residents of Al-Sharae expressed their concerns to "Okaz" about the possibility of repeating the scenario of the Al-Ja'ranah Bridge closure, which was shut down more than a year ago for maintenance work and remains in that state with no signs of maintenance beginning.
Abdullah Al-Muallad, Hassan Falatah, and Ibrahim Al-Ali stated that the Al-Sharae Bridge is one of the main routes in eastern Mecca, experiencing heavy traffic throughout the day and night. They pointed out that it would have been possible to close two lanes of the road while keeping two lanes open to maintain traffic flow and carry out the necessary maintenance in phases, alternating between the lanes. They noted that closing the intersections beneath the bridge causes traffic congestion, especially during school hours and puts pressure on other routes.
