التقى نائب مندوب المملكة الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة فارس العتيبي مجموعةً من طلاب مدرسة «هارتفورد العالمية» المشاركين في المؤتمر السنوي الـ73 لمحاكاة نموذج الأمم المتحدة.
واستُعرضت خلال اللقاء جهود وفد المملكة في لجان الأمم المتحدة المختلفة ومجالات العمل المتعددة، بما في ذلك دعم القضايا الدولية ذات الأولوية، وتعزيز مسارات التنمية المستدامة، والعمل الإنساني، وتمكين الشباب.
وتطرق العرض إلى منهجية الوفد في بناء الشراكات، وآليات التوافق وصياغة القرارات داخل المنظومة متعددة الأطراف.
وشارك عددٌ من خبراء الوفد الدائم في حوار مفتوح مع الطلاب، قدّموا خلاله شرحاً لآليات العمل الدبلوماسي وإجراءات التفاوض داخل اللجان، وأجابوا عن استفسارات تتعلق بدور المجموعات الإقليمية، ومسار تبنّي القرارات، وأهمية الأدلة الفنية في دعم المواقف التفاوضية.
وأعرب نائب المندوب الدائم عن تقديره لاهتمام الطلاب بالدبلوماسية المتعددة الأطراف، مؤكداً حرص وفد المملكة على تعزيز تواصله مع المؤسسات التعليمية وبرامج محاكاة الأمم المتحدة بما يسهم في إعداد جيلٍ واعٍ بقضايا السلم والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان.
The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Fares Al-Otaibi, met with a group of students from "Hartford International School" participating in the 73rd annual Model United Nations conference.
During the meeting, the efforts of the Kingdom's delegation in various United Nations committees and multiple areas of work were presented, including support for priority international issues, promoting sustainable development pathways, humanitarian work, and empowering youth.
The presentation addressed the delegation's methodology in building partnerships, mechanisms for consensus, and decision-making within the multilateral system.
Several experts from the permanent delegation participated in an open dialogue with the students, during which they provided explanations of diplomatic work mechanisms and negotiation procedures within the committees, and answered inquiries related to the role of regional groups, the process of adopting decisions, and the importance of technical evidence in supporting negotiating positions.
The Deputy Permanent Representative expressed his appreciation for the students' interest in multilateral diplomacy, emphasizing the Kingdom's delegation's commitment to enhancing its communication with educational institutions and Model United Nations programs, contributing to the preparation of a generation aware of issues of peace, development, and human rights.
