أمانة الشرقية توقّع مذكرة تفاهم «روضة إكرام» لتعزيز خدمات مراكز إكرام الموتى

The Eastern Province Municipality signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation today (Wednesday) with the Ikram Al-Mawta Association in the Eastern Province, aiming to enhance the services provided in the deceased care centers and official cemeteries in the Eastern Province, thereby promoting integration between the government and non-profit sectors and contributing to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the municipality by the Eastern Province Secretary, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubair, and on behalf of the association by the Chairman of the Board, Abdulhakim bin Hamad Al-Amar Al-Khalidi.

The memorandum aims to enhance the quality of services in the deceased care centers, including the development of the centers and improving the efficiency of the services provided in accordance with Islamic teachings, promoting a culture of volunteer work, supporting community participation, and qualifying and training workers in the mortuaries in line with the Sunnah, as well as developing and maintaining cemeteries, implementing necessary development projects, and supporting the transfer of the deceased and the burial of non-Muslims in accordance with approved policies and regulations.

The memorandum included cooperation between the two parties in several areas, where the municipality provides technical and logistical support and facilitates the association's participation in its volunteer programs and annual plans, while the Ikram Al-Mawta Association is responsible for developing the centers and cemeteries, training personnel, preparing awareness and media materials, and contributing to improving the infrastructure of the facilities.

Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair noted that this partnership comes as part of the municipality's commitment to developing municipal and social services and improving the quality of life for citizens and residents, pointing out that cooperation with the non-profit sector is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and enhancing the efficiency of public services, emphasizing the municipality's ongoing support for initiatives and community cooperation to elevate municipal services.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of the Ikram Al-Mawta Association expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Eastern Province Municipality for its continuous support for the association's initiatives, noting that this memorandum represents an important step in enhancing community integration and improving the services of the care centers and cemeteries, as well as expanding the scope of volunteer work in this field.
