ترأس وزير المالية محمد الجدعان وفد المملكة المُشارك في الاجتماع الـ«124» للجنة التعاون المالي والاقتصادي لدول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، الذي عُقد في الكويت أمس (الخميس) برئاسة وزير الكهرباء والماء والطاقة المتجددة وزير المالية وزير الدولة للشؤون الاقتصادية والاستثمار بالوكالة في دولة الكويت -رئيس الدورة الحالية- صبيح المخيزيم، ومشاركة وزراء المالية بدول المجلس، والأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم البديوي.
واستعرض الوزراء خلال الاجتماع عدداً من الموضوعات المتعلقة بتعزيز التعاون المالي والاقتصادي بين دول المجلس، ومتابعة المستجدات لتحقيق ذلك. وفي هذا الإطار، تمت مناقشة التقدم المحرز من هيئة الاتحاد الجمركي، وسير الأعمال لجدول أعمالها التي تدعم استكمال متطلبات الاتحاد الجمركي، وكذلك تم استعراض التقرير الدوري بشأن تنفيذ مسارات السوق الخليجية المشتركة.
وشارك الجدعان في الاجتماع المشترك بين وزراء المالية ومحافظي البنوك المركزية بدول المجلس مع مدير عام صندوق النقد الدولي، على هامش الاجتماع الـ(124) للجنة التعاون المالي والاقتصادي، وتمت مناقشة الورقة المُعدة من صندوق النقد الدولي حيال «تعزيز القدرة على الصمود أمام الصدمات العالمية: الآفاق الاقتصادية والتحديات السياسية لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي (2025)».
Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan chaired the delegation of the Kingdom participating in the 124th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held in Kuwait yesterday (Thursday) under the presidency of the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, the Minister of Finance, and the Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment in the State of Kuwait - the current session president - Subaih Al-Mukhizeem, with the participation of the finance ministers of the council's countries and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed a number of topics related to enhancing financial and economic cooperation among the council's countries and followed up on developments to achieve that. In this context, the progress made by the Customs Union Authority was discussed, along with the progress of its agenda supporting the completion of the Customs Union requirements. A periodic report on the implementation of the Common Gulf Market pathways was also reviewed.
Al-Jadaan participated in the joint meeting between the finance ministers and the governors of central banks of the council's countries with the Director-General of the International Monetary Fund, on the sidelines of the 124th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, where the paper prepared by the International Monetary Fund regarding "Enhancing Resilience to Global Shocks: Economic Outlook and Political Challenges for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (2025)" was discussed.
