I once wrote an article titled "If We Became Angels, We Would Not Be Interceded For," with the premise that if Saudi Arabia, with all its diverse individuals, were to turn into angels, our country would still not be safe from hatred and incitement against it—comprehensive incitement in everything. It would not be accepted from us even if we lit candles with our fingers, nor would all the good we offer and everything we say be accepted. Even if we said: "Peace be upon you," the great greeting would be distorted by whatever the inciter wishes to do.
We have become accustomed to all kinds of incitement and the vile actions of inciters. Daily, inciters launch their provocations from outside the country, and with every noble act, the hatreds collapse onto a platter of the Kingdom's flesh.
Yesterday, we celebrated National Day, coinciding with the gathering of world nations at the United Nations General Assembly, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, to recognize the State of Palestine. The Palestinian issue has been the core of foreign policy since the emergence of that issue, which the Kingdom has insisted on resolving since its inception. The last statement from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was that there is no peace or normalization without granting the Palestinians a state, which is the internationally raised slogan that there is no solution except through a two-state solution for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.
In all global media, the Kingdom's efforts to hold that global gathering were praised. This global acknowledgment and affirmation did not sit well with the haters and inciters, so they began to attribute the Kingdom's efforts to other parties and causes. I had hoped that they would not pay attention to their words, as these individuals usually attract all harmful insects to swarm around our light during our radiant national occasions to diminish its glow.
The light penetrates the universe and does not care about the broken wings.
And to the sons of this radiant nation, do not pay attention to the words of the haters... The hope still exists, as the Kingdom's actions speak alongside its words, and it has insisted for a long time that there is no real peace without the return of the usurped land to its rightful owners.
